Hi all,

I am in dyer need of some HELP..

I am using AnyDVD HD and Clone DVD both up to date versions... I am now getting a problem...

The problem i am getting is that i can not burn the DVDs the AnyDVD is not recognising my drive when a blank disc is in and then i can not get it out without restarting my laptop.

I have been on to DELL who have tested my drive and is in perfect order as it burns to CD.. They are saying it might be the software..

Please can someone advise me as i have been using this software for a while now and since the new updates all i get it problems....

or does anyone have any older versions which they can give me to download and try..

Thank you

Misschillout.

can you burn dvds like you do cds? i have seen dvd burners lose the burning ability and just become dvd/cd-rw's. can you play dvds?

Hi misschillout,

Welcome to the forum!

Firts of all: NEVER EVER post a problem in multiple threads:
http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=8916

Please try this:

Please open AnyDVD (click onto the application shortcut on your desktop or the AnyDVD symbol in the system tray next to the clock) and then click onto the "+" next to drives, then click onto "selection" and check both drives by clicking them. A checkmark has to be visible next to all of your drives.

Then confirm the changes with OK and reboot your system.

Hi Tom,

Sorry for multi posting, I wasn't sure where to psot.. Won't happen again....

Both are already ticked any other suggestions...

Thank you

Misschillout

Please follow the steps, especially 3 and 4 (note that step 4 requires you to post information):

If you're using Vista, then click this.

If you have Zonealarm on your system, ensure Anydvd is being given permission to access the trusted zone.
Similarly if you have a firewall, antivirus or spyware program--ensure it's not blocking Anydvd from running.
Provided you downloaded Anydvd from Slysoft's website, Anydvd is a safe program (you have nothing
to be paranoid about).

If you have System Mechanic, System Mechanic Pro, or any kind of registry monitoring program, please ensure
these programs are allowing Anydvd's installation program to modify your registry--as those programs can block
Anydvd from installing properly.

If you keep getting "your trial has ended" messages, despite using your license key
visit http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=196

If Anydvd says your drive is disabled, ignore the message unless you also receive it
when you have a movie inserted in that drive.
Some drives' firmware may report the wrong
information to Anydvd. Often Anydvd will still function properly.
visit http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=2891&postcount=12 (Zebadee's Anydvd works fine)

If Anydvd can't see your drives or they aren't listed, click the red fox icon on your toolbar. Navigate to "Drives"-->"Selection".
Ensure your optical drives are checkmarked.

Right click the Anydvd icon on your desktop. Click "properties". Click the "Compatibility tab". If you're using
Windows XP, ensure the box for "compatibility mode" is not selected. -- thanks to vbro for the information

linx05 says Teatimer enabled on Spybot can cause problems during installation: visit http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=36804&postcount=5

1. Exit out of all Slysoft programs and reinstall

a) Keep your license key file backed up safely
b) Uninstall Anydvd (start-->all programs-->Slysoft--->Anydvd-->Uninstall)
c) Reboot
d) Try running a registry cleaner program at this point like CCleaner
e) Download Anydvd http://static.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD.exe
f) Exit all Slysoft programs (including Anydvd, Clonedvd2, Clonecd, Clonecdtray, Clonedvdmobile, etc.). Check Windows Task Manager if you have to.
g) At this point disable your antivirus and firewall programs
h) Reinstall
i) Reboot
j) Install your license key (if required) http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=732
k) At this point enable your antivirus and firewall programs

If that doesn't work go on to step 2.

2. Read http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=1307 fully

3. i. For XP with ide burners
Click this

Do what it says to do if you have XP and an ide burner/optical drive.

ii. For Vista with ide burners

Go into device manager, and check to ensure you're using standard Microsoft ide busmaster drivers.

Right click on your PCI IDE Bus Master controller, and remove it. Ensure that it also removes the driver for your DVD/CD rom. Reboot. Your system should find hardware. After your system is finished installing hardware, reboot again.

click http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=48880&postcount=20 to get a better idea of what I'm asking for if you're using Vista.

4. a) Download imgburn. It's a free program: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(it's also an excellent program imo)

b) Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. Click "Clipboard". Then paste the information you pasted into your clipboard into your next post (ctrl-v).

OR

visit http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=21907&postcount=11 (thanks to Zebadee)
Use one of the programs mentioned, and list your Lowerfilters and Upperfilters in your next post.

Or for XP users only,
Click Start, Run
type regedit
Go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Current Control Set\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

We want what's listed in "LowerFilters" and "UpperFilters". List your Lowerfilters and Upperfilters in your next post.

Before you do this visit http://www.cdr-zone.com/forum/about4719.html, and read the first post please, so you can get a better understanding of what is going on.

Do not start randomly deleting filters, please.

5. If Anydvd/Clonedvd2 is locking up at this point, then read http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=24297&postcount=4

A. What versions of Clonedvd and Anydvd are you using?
B. What is the full error message you are receiving? When do the problem happen? When Clonedvd attempts to burn?

and then i can not get it out without restarting my laptop.

C. What blank media are you using? Specify a) brand name b)type (-R, +R, -RW, +RW, RAM, DL, etc.) c)media code, d) capacity/size, e) batch codes/serial codes (often found printed on the inner plastic hub of the blank disc), and f)country (factory information would be great as well, if possible) where the media was made (look on the physical packaging; do not rely on programs to accurately give you this information).

If you don't know how to obtain media codes, you may find the following programs useful:

http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com and http://www.dvdinfopro.com/

D. Visit your burner's website, and update your burner's firmware if possible.
If you don't know how to go about doing this, visit http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=12794&postcount=10

I have been on to DELL who have tested my drive and is in perfect order as it burns to CD.

E. What brand and model burner are you using? Click the red fox icon in your system tray. Select "status" on the left hand side of your screen. With the problematic disc inserted in your computer, click the appropriate drive tab letter (the drive containing the disc) in Anydvd. In the window below the drive letter (just right click in the window and choose "select all" and then "copy"), copy and paste (right click, select "paste") the information into your next reply on these forums. If you made a backup, do this step for both the original disc and the backup, please.

AnyDVD HD 6.1.8.4 and CloneDVD 2.9.1.2

B. What is the full error message you are receiving? When do the problem happen? When Clonedvd attempts to burn?

There is no error message as such but when i put the blank disc in (DVD-R) nothing happends and the Cancel or Eject box comes up and makes that funny sound and just sits there and the drive does nothing and the green light on the drive justs stays on. This is when CloneDVD trys to burn disc.

C. What blank media are you using? Specify

a) Brand name - RiDisc

b) Type - DVD-R

Use good quality blank media. Not this Ridisc junk. That's most likely your problem. Try Taiyo Yuden premium or Verbatim (not made in India). I suspect there is a compatibility issue between your burner's firmware and your Ridisc dvd-rs. Ridisc is pretty junky as it is though, so you may just have simply run into some bad blank discs.

That said, you still haven't done step 3 and 4 from my original post.

c) Media code - Media Information

UDF Volume Name - FINDING_NEVERLAND

I meant give me the information from the blank disc--not one that's already been burned, but that doesn't matter now. Unless you feel that is blank . . . If so, it appears that an effort was made to write to it already (and you should throw the disc out).

Summary for drive E: (AnyDVD 6.1.8.4)
TSSTCORP DVD+-RW TS-L632D DE04 DE
Drive (Hardware) Region: 0 (not set!)

i. Right click the fox on your toolbar. Exit Anydvd
ii. Click start. Right click on "My computer"--->select "properties".
iii.Click on the 'Hardware' tab--->click the 'device manager' button.
iv. Open the dvd/cdrom branch---> right click on your optical drive
v. Click "properties".
vi. You should have a region tab. From there you can select a region.
vii. Select the region that matches the region on the disc (or where you live)
viii. Start Anydvd

And you still need to do steps 3 and 4 from my original post. Instead of step 4 you can also do this:
a)Click the red fox icon on your toolbar.
b) Navigate to "Program Settings".
c) Click "enable logging".
d) Click "ok".
e) Put the original disc in your optical drive/reader.
f) Go to your "My Documents" folder
g) You will see a zip file called "Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.zip"
h) When replying or posting in the Slysoft forums, look for the icon that looks like
attach.gif

i) if you don't see that icon, click the "go advanced" button. You should see that icon now. Click the paperclip.
j) a small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't please ensure your browser is enabled to allow pop-ups from the Slysoft forums)
k) click the "Browse" button, and locate and select the .zip file you created.
l) click "upload"

b) Navigate to "Program Settings".
c) Click "enable logging".
d) Click "ok".
e) Put the original disc in your optical drive/reader.

By the way, here's another thing to consider (besides your bad choice of blank media, which you could rule out by simply using Taiyo Yuden Premiums):

Some burners when they die, can burn cd-rs perfectly fine, but not dvd-rs. This is not unusual, and, in fact, is sometimes typical.

Ok...

With out sounding like a total morron.... I don't know where to get the Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.zip file from. I don't have that in My documents....

Please advise.
