Translation of a french topic ( http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?p=59412 ).

jcmaximus has the last version of anydvd HD (6.1.8.4) and the last version of powerdvd ultra (7 -> http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/download/patches_112_ENU.html )

But when he wants to read 300 (blu ray), Powerdvd ask him to update the device.
If he clicks on Yes, powerdvd ask the same thing again and again.
If he clicks on No, he can't play the movie.

If he closes anydvd, he can play the movie because powerdvd doesn't ask him to update more than one time the device.

If he use an older version of powerdvd, he has no problems.

Any idea ?

Those patches in that link are very old, there is a newer patch for Cyberlink, 3319a, but you have to e-mail them to get it. It must be a beta patch because they do have it in their "downloadable patch section". I have no idea whether this will help or not, just an observation.

I have to shut down AnyDVD to play any Blu-ray disc

I have PowerDVD Ultra build 3319a. I have AnyDVD HD 6.1.8.4. In order to play any Blu-ray disc, I must shut down AnyDVD, or I get in the loop message from PowerDVD to update the product. This is not true for Blu-ray discs that have been ripped to the hard drive. So, I am confirming what others have said.

Little news :

(AnyDVD 6.1.9.3)
PIONEER BD-ROMBDC-202 1.01 07/05/15PIONEER
Drive (Hardware) Region: 2

Media is a Blu-Ray disc.
Total size: 17342400 sectors (33871 MBytes)
Video Blu-Ray label: 300____
Media is AACS protected!
Removed AACS copy protection!

He tries to read a dvd with the bluray device, no problem.
Then, he tries to read this blu ray disc (300), powerdvd always ask the update.

Try the new beta 6.1.9.4 and enable logging. Upload the zip for James.

jcmaximus try with version 3319A (powerdvd), and has no more problem.
