I'm having trouble with the new HD-DVD Transformers movie. I get this message when the disk loads. Any ideas. I can't watch it right now. Power dvd just maxes out the cpu and windvd won't even attempt to load the disk. I've tried with both anyDVD enabled and disabled.

Summary for drive L: (AnyDVD 6.1.8.4)
TOSHIBA DVD/HDX807616 MC08 10/03/06
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

Media is a HD DVD.
Booktype: hd-dvd (version 3), Layers: 2 (opposite)
Size of first Layer: 6903072 sectors (13482 MBytes)
Total size: 13806144 sectors (26965 MBytes)
Video HD DVD label: TRANSFORMERS_D1_NA
Media is AACS protected!
VerifyMediaKey failed. Please update AnyDVD!

First off, I hate you for having it already..jk...but I bet it wouldn t be a stretch to believe that it uses similar encoding to that on Troy and some of the newer HD dvd releases.Apparently it will be another 2 weeks or so before James and the gang can crack it.

Most likely there is MKB v4 and there isn't any support in AnyDVD HD on this new structure just yet..

BD+ hasn't been dealt with yet and will take some time.

it seems that these last protections are everywhere now ...
go slysoft, go

can we have an estimation of the time to implement a bypass ?
a fews days, a few weeks or a few months ?

thanks

Slysoft has stated that it should take a couple of weeks with the new AACS encryption.

Yes I would also say that the reason why it does not work is MKB v4. But it seems a little strange to me.Why does it take Slysoft so long to crack MKB v4. When AACS released MKB v3 they cracked it about one day after the release. Did they implement new encryptions like they said they would do on the last DVDforum meeting in Berlin??I think they said they would like to stop AnyDVD from working?!but I thought these encryptions would come later...

Here's another one that can't be played back yet Mighty Heart

Im a bit new to all this so apologies if I sound a bit thick.
If transformers wont play even when anydvd is enabled or not isnt
that another cyberlink issue not a slysoft one. (like the recent need for 3319 to
fix silver surfer etc).
Still it is a bit annoying, built my htpc a few months ago and now it seems
like every new film I buy wont work.

me too. Join the club of htpc users getting hosed by DRM:mad:

Do other HD movies work if you don't have Anydvd HD running?

yeah no probs.
matrix trilogy fine off disc and hdd.spiderman (bd) only off hdd
wont play the discs, but thats an already documented issue.
Transformers 86 animated (bd) plays off disc with anydvd disabled(after 3319).Had
to switch from dvi to component to get around hdcp for that one.
Got robocop blu ray today, will give that a whirl tomorrow and
hopefully transformers 2007 hd dvd will arrive too by then.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as the other htpc users, can't watch transformers. It plays black and white with the color all weird and up higher than the rest of the picture. Anyone else have this problem?

Transformers works for me with the latest PDVD and the XBox drive. I've got an 8800GTS with one of the later 163.xx drivers (sorry, not sure of the exact version).

Hey Talon,
Can you tell me the exact drivers your using? i have a 8800gts 640mb and im having driver issues where powerDVD keeps telling me that i need to update my driver. I tried the newest one 163.71 and it still blocks me from running the movie.
Thanks

I finally found it in the CP, 163.44.

I can play it fine. I have the latest PDVD and 8800GTX with drivers 163.71. I had to turn the noise reduction all the way to 0% for it to play correctly though, otherwise I would get some color corruption.
