Hi,

again the GUI doesn't show up.
1) rebooted and restart - no effect
2) uninstall - failed to uninstall
3) installed 1.1.4.3. - no effect
4) installed again 1.1.5.0 - no effect
5) rebooted again - no effect

I can see AnyStream in the Task Manager but the GUI doesn't show up.
any idea?

If it failed to uninstall how did you reinstall 1143 and why that version. The other versions are not applicable anymore.

installing versions always works.
why 1143: it was the last version which was working fine for me. but unfortunatly it also doesn't show up now...

I really have no clue what is causing this behavior.

In your taskmanager you can right-click on AnyStream when it's hanging there and select "create dump file", zip that and post it here.
That might help us identify the cause.

Is it possible the GUI is on another monitor/display, or somehow got dragged to the edge of the screen? Try Windows-P and set to PC screen only if it's not already set for a single monitor setup. Maybe try a Shift-AltMouseButton-Click (Shift-Right-Click for default mouse setups) on the AS taskbar icon and try the options like Maximize or Move. For Move the mouse should position on the title bar if it's visible.

If it's the window position and the other methods don't help, close AS and launch regedit and try deleting the WindowGeometry key under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\RedFox\AnyStream and then re-launch AS. Hopefully I don't get in trouble for recommending that last bit. lol

In my case 1.1.5.0 works Ok. At least for the time being. I haven't tried and tested all possible permutations of options but so far so good.

I deleted the key...no effect.

I've had this issue once before and I believe I fixed it by removing the VC redistributable and reinstalling AS. You may have both 32 and 64 bit, you should only have to uninstall the one that matches the AS install you have.

I believe it has something todo with the Visual C++ Redistributable...
If I start the installation of the VC component which is distributed with Anystream manually, I get the following error:

but I'm not sure how to handle this correct...
Because if I would like to uninstall the VC component...I'm not sure which of those

ok, installed it.
AS GUI didn't show up.
re-installed 1.1.5.0. AS GUI didn't show up.

so the issue is still there. GUI doesn't show up.
I have no clue what is causing this.
Why don't you give Pete a chance to analyze the dump file you gave him. I am pretty sure this will be fixed, or he'll let you know what the issue is.

yeah, just wanted to report that the suggestions didn't work so far. So basically my hope is Pete and I wish he is sucessfully with his analyze! :)

Someone mentioned this already, but didn't specify how move the window if it's out of focus (out of the visible area)

Once in a while I have the same problem with other applications (but vary rare) that Windows decides to open a program out of the visible screen area.

Close the program and when you re-open it, watch where it goes (very fast, but you should be able to see the window "jumping" to the top, bottom, or side).

Hold the "shift-key", right click on the task bar icon and select "move" - now you can move the window with your cursor keys back into focus. E.g. If you saw the window vanishing to the top, use the down arrow (and so on).

there is no taskbar icon. the only thing I can see is that anystream is kind of running in the task manager as background process...
