1. Right-click the red fox icon on your toolbar. Select "Rip video dvd to harddisk".

If you get an error message, please provide the FULL error message. Thank you.

2. Also ensure you don't have the alpha-disc rootkit on your system (which will attempt to install on your system once you place the disc in your drive):
http://www.sophos.co.uk/products/free-tools/sophos-anti-rootkit.html

3. Don't be running Anydvd and dvdfab at the exact same time.

Make sure you have enough free space to rip the movie. It definitely appears that you do not or possibly you are attempting to rip the movie to a non-existent folder [but I'm not sure if that is even possible]. If there isn't enough space then either free some up on your D drive or use your C drive another HDD where you have enough space. While it may appear to be 84 GB when viewed with Windows Explorer it isn't. You'll need the same amount of space as you would with any normal DVD DL disc.

hey

yeah thats what i dont understand the drive i am trying to rip it to has like 50gb of space and it still wont let me start ripping ?

I really can't say what the problem is. I've not encountered this nor do I own the DVD. Do you have enough room on your C drive? If so please try to rip it to that drive and see what happens.

hey

yup i am positive the root kit is not installed onto the computer since i just did a scan with that program from that site you mentioned...and i am also sure there is enough space on my drives to allow me to rip the disc...

O.k, because my understanding is that if you put that disc in your drive (without Anydvd running--and apparently you tried with dvdfab), the alphadisc rootkit will attempt to install immediately (if the disc attempts to autorun).

Here's what I've been told. I don't know where the original source is for this info:

People should check for a hidden file. It's called "DRM", and it installs on the hard drive when disc 1 is inserted into the DVD drive
(presumably if autorun is enabled)

Check
C:\Documents and Settings\OWNER\Local Settings\Temp\DRM

And it may be in "Default User" or "All Users". Someone reported seeing something called "Block" and "Block2", which I guess should also be deleted (but I'm not sure).

Anyway, this is just another good reason to have PC-Friendly enabled constantly in Anydvd (and have Anydvd running before putting discs in your system). There are other ways to disable autorun, of course . . .

Hey

Yup im not sure what i can do to get this disc to rip...

1) If you received an error message with Clonedvd, please provide the full error message. Thank you.

2) Is the problem isolated to disc 2 only? Or is disc 1 also giving you problems?

3) You may have to wait to see what James says.

hey

Hey

the problem is this disc set as a whole..both disc one and disc 2 werent able to be ripped by anydvd newest version...even though it says in the status menu that the protection or whatever it is has been disabled...

i was only able to crack disc 1 using fabdvd HD version today...and now i cant rip disc 2

i guess ill wait to see what james says...
