Can AnyDvd HD convert Blu Ray to ISO? I saw an old post from 2016 that stated you need to right click on the fox icon and click on rip to image.. but this option does not come up when I right click on the fox icon on the upper left hand corner. was this removed by chance? thank you

Right-click on the Redfox icon that's in your system tray (or notification area) at the right of the taskbar which is usually (by default) at the bottom of the screen in Windows.

I say usually because you can customize the taskbar to appear elsewhere ....

Ahhh... thank you! I was right clicking the fox icon on the actual window :)

What is the difference between Rip To Image and Rip Video Disc To Hard Disc? Thank you.

Rip To Image = Creates a .iso of the Blu ray or 4k disc you are ripping
(NOTE: Do NOT use "Rip To Image" with Dvds - Use "Rip Video Disc To Hard Disc" instead)

Rip Video Disc To Hard Disc = Creates hard drive folders from the disc you are ripping
(Note: Main use is for ripping Dvds & regular Blu ray discs. For 3D Blu ray you MUST use "Rip To Image" to create a .iso!)

I have been using Rip To Image for DVDs...never had any issues with the resulting ISO in my 13-14 years of using AnyDVD.

Perhaps, but that doesn't mean it's the right way to do things. Creating an ISO of a DVD with the anydvd ripper will keep certain protections intact and into the ISO (like structural protection), which may cause playback problem. It's not guaranteed there will be problems but there's an increased chance.

If you must have a DVD ISO, use the Clonedvd function.

Hi, @Ch3vr0n, if you use an external ripper like ImgBurn to make a DVD ISO, is the result any different than using the internal AnyDVD rip to image function? My guess is it's not. Hmm. Maybe I ought to go back and redo some DVD rips with CloneDVD.

It'll be the same, structural protection (fake title sets) can't be removed on the fly. They need to be actively removed through reauthoring which is what Clonedvd does in a way. It only copies the valid titles into the ISO.

Maybe I can mount those DVD ISOs and see if they contain the structural protections, so I only re-rip those that need it.

Will AnyDVD detect that in a ripped ISO mounted with VCD?

Good question.

I was wondering that myself.
