He-Man S2 V2 - Rip still fails with 6.1.7.1 Beta

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Season 2 Volume 2, Disc 01 only fails to rip to ISO (all others rip perfectly). Gets to 99% then fails. Error message displayed is "Clone 1 TCE". I emailed support at Elby thinking it was a Clone DVD issue and Peter Nord made several suggestions none of which changed anything. Ultimately he sided on the thought it was an AnyDVD issue and to wait for an update to 6.1.7.0. I saw the beta posted and tried it, but still having the same issues. I swapped out the disc set, for an unrelated issue and have the same issue with the new set as I did on the old set. I've also tried this on different drives. Before posting about your problem, please do some of us a favour so that we can help you better.
Follow the steps, and answer the following questions in your post (especially 8 and 9):

1) Ensure you're using the lastest version of Anydvd. Check the sticky at the top of this forum.

8 ) Click the red fox icon in your system tray. Select "status" on the left hand side of your screen. With the problematic disc inserted in your computer, click the appropriate drive tab letter (the drive containing the disc) in Anydvd. In the window below the drive letter, copy and paste the information Anydvd gives you into your post asking for help. If you made a backup, do this step for both the original disc and the backup, please.

Well, this disc doesn't have anything special on it in terms of protection. There's so little protection, Dvd Shrink could handle it without Anydvd.

2. Click the red fox icon on your toolbar. Navigate to "Css Key Archive". Please ensure "Use CSS Key archive" is unchecked.
Or Better still, click the "default" button in Anydvd. Then click "ok".

4. Download Nero cd-dvd speed. It's a free program. With Anydvd running in the background, select the tab labeled "scandisc". Select the appropriate drive letter, and click "start". Given the rest of the discs in the series worked--and given that there's no protection on this disc other than CSS, I suspect you have a bad original disc even if it plays fine. But go though the steps I outlined.

Point 1 - Not using either of these programs. Did disable my AVG antivirus just to be safe though.
Point 2 - Done. No difference.
Point 3 - N/A - not writing to any media. Ripping to ISO.

Done - Disc scanned as 100% Good with Nero cd-dvd Speed 4.7.7.3. Would have been surprised if disc scanned bad because as stated before I had already exchanged this box set for an identical replacement, for an unrelated reason, and got identical error on both sets on 2 different computers each. Same error on 2 different drives, both brand new; therefore would doubt dying slowly theory.

Given the rest of the discs in the series worked--and given that there's no protection on this disc other than CSS, I suspect you have a bad original disc even if it plays fine. But go though the steps I outlined.

Well, if memory serves, the Clone 1 error usually means that Clonedvd can't compress--perhaps due to faulty css key decryption. But I haven't seen or heard that type of thing happening in ages. That's why I had you check to see if the css key archive was enabled in Anydvd. Another possibility for that happening was due to the use of cracks. Given that you're writing to Elby, I've pretty much ruled that out.

Done - Disc scanned as 100% Good with Nero cd-dvd Speed 4.7.7.3. Would have been surprised if disc scanned bad because as stated before I had already exchanged this box set for an identical replacement

Yeah, it's not actually rare, however, for a bunch of poorly manufacturered/bad pressings of a disc to be released. I know someone who returned a dvd to a store four times. Finally, he went to another store and bought one that worked.

(it's also an excellent program imo)

b) Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. Click "Clipboard". Then paste the information you pasted into your clipboard into your next post (ctrl-v).

I would like to check your filters.

3. Does the disc play fine with Anydvd enabled? Does the video look messed up at all?

4. Please also send the ifos to Slysoft: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=330. I know you posted a link, but it's possible that Slysoft needs them.

5. I notice you're using Vista.

a) How much free hard drive space do have left?
b) Disable User Account Control (I doubt this is the problem since you created other .isos, but might as well check) and rip
c) I wonder if Clonedvd is having problems creating the .iso due to some weird administrative rights issue (Again, I doubt this is the issue, but I have to ask) . . . You do have full access to your hard drive, right?

6. Right click the red fox icon on your toolbar. Select "rip video-dvd to hard disk". Select your source and destination. Click "Copy dvd". Let us know if you get any error messages. Please provide full error messages. Thank you.

This means, that AnyDVD did not decrypt the movie correctly.

Make sure that:

1.) AnyDVD is running on system start
2.) AnyDVD is running when you insert the disc
3.) Try to disable the CSS archive, if it is enabled

EDIT:
4.) If you use a cracked / keygenned version of AnyDVD: Don't. Modifying the program in any way might affect its ability to decrypt CSS.

EDIT2:
To check AnyDVD's CSS decryption: *Watch* the movie on the PC while AnyDVD is running. If you see a distorted picture, CSS was not decrypted correctly.

Yes - you can completely rule out the use of any cracks or bootleg versions of Slysoft product. Everything absolutely 100% legit. Paid versions of all.

I tried uploading them to this forum, but they exceeded the size limitation. I couldn't find any way to work around this, other than posting them with a download link. I will follow the steps in the link you referenced and send them to Slysoft directly.

Currently about 135GB on my C drive, and around 800GB on my external drive I save ISOs to.

This also seems to work. No errors received. I'm left with a pile of files as opposed to the one convenient ISO, but I could now presumably create an ISO from these files and have the same thing.

This is very weird. Imgburn works, and Anydvd ripper works (granted Anydvd ripper doesn't create .isos). If Anydvd ripper works, then Anydvd is getting the CSS key correctly (at least that seems to be a reasonable conclusion). So again, this looks to me to be some sort of weird Clonedvd/Vista issue.

What happens if you rip with Clonedvd and choose to output "dvd files" instead of .iso? Does that work?

I did verify I am using the standard Microsoft drivers with the aid of the link you posted.

Just for kicks I also ran Clone as Administrator - didn't change anything, same errors, but wanted to rule out permissions aspect.

Anydvd ripper actually uses some Clonedvd code. I would have expected the same results

1. Anydvd + imgburn works
2. Anydvd ripper works
3. Anydvd active + watching the disc on the computer works
3. Anydvd + Clonedvd doesn't work.

Process of elimination points me towards Clonedvd.

But that remuxing forced message generally means an issue with Anydvd getting the css key wrong.

Anyway, James is the best judge. He's an Anydvd developer. I'm just an end-user, and I don't work
for Slyosft nor Elaborate Bytes.

Better wait to see what he has to say.

Puzzling. If you select the titles in CloneDVD, does the preview run correctly?
Can you try to untick titles which look "wrong"?

Yes - all the titles in the preview look correct. None look wrong. [See attached files] - I've had to pare down most of the log file and resize the images to fit them within the forum's constraints. The essentials should be there though.

Also tried a rip with AnyDVD 6.1.7.4 with same results.
