I've had this program for years. I originally bought it with a lifetime update guarantee. At this point I rarely use it but the other day I had reason to. When I opened the app it informed me that the program needed an update....so I updated it only to find out that my license key was rendered invalid. Is there a way to reverse this process because this is a total ripoff.

There is no ripoff. On the download page it clearly states that slysoft issued license keys only work up to 7695. You can't blame you not reading upon redfox. You were issued updates for the lifetime of slysoft, the company that sold you the license. When slysoft got forcibly shut down by the Antiguan authority because of the MPAA, they took your and thousands of other user licenses (like mine) with it.

If you want to use V8 and up, you need a redfox issued license key. Slysoft was shut down, former staff formed redfox and restarted anydvd. That requires funding to do development, pay staff, servers,... How do you get that? Right, by selling licenses.

Revert? Sure just install 7695 again, but that version will NOT support most current releases, and the OPD it relied on got shut down along with slysoft.

Google it, you're about 2 years late to 'complain'.

Thankyou Ivan. It worked perfectly and I'm back to normal. I hope Ch3vrOn reads this. You need to stop lecturing people with false information and get your facts straight before posting YOUR views. For your information my version had the word FOREVER next to updates ...not 7695 so next time you see a post like mine try to mind your own business!
Thankyou again Ivan

I'm not lecturing, im telling things as it, 2 years after slysoft was shut down. First of, if you had read the post properly, you would have seen this

Revert? Sure just install 7695 again, but that version will NOT support most current releases, and the OPD it relied on got shut down along with slysoft.

which is exactly the same as what Ivan said. And you were issued lifetime updates, for the lifetime of the company that sold you the license. What did you expect, YOUR lifetime? Cmon you paid what $130 or so. Average lifetime is lets say 75 years of a human being, you try living of $130 for 75 years :)

This isn't false information, its straight up facts. Slysoft got shut down by the MPAA. Redfox isn't Slysoft, and 7695 WILL have problems with current titles. Yes it will work, to a degree, but not on every disc.

Oh and watch the language towards official forum staff, you're entitled to express yourself, but there are limits.

You really need to mind your business sir and as for my language, I gave you all the courtesy you deserve. Have a nice day.

My business is managing this forum with my fellow mods, and tell you the facts as they are (and are available on the internet through a simple 'slysoft shut down' search). If you don't want to believe that, that's your problem.
