i really need help im using TY 8x dvd-r (TYG02) i think and when i backed up the movie (perfect stranger) with menus and all options, i started watching it and it started like showing green blocks .... sort of skiping,.... i need help determing whats the problem....

anydvd 6.1.7.0

clonedvd2 2.9.1.2

xps series gen 2 3.19 ghz 1gb ram low process (28 tasks) what else could be useful?

i did this movie 2 times, first time the beganing (when u first put movie) it skieped worser then it inproved on 2nd disc..... but it doesnt make sense i just burned TMNT and it came out flawlessly please help.....

1) Use Anydvd 6.1.7.1, and post Anydvd's status window for the original disc

2) What percent does the quality bar in Clonedvd indicate before burning?

3) At what speed are you burning?

4) Are you using the latest firmware for your burner?

5) a) Download imgburn. It's a free program: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(it's also an excellent program imo)

b) Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. Click "Clipboard". Then paste the information you pasted into your clipboard into your next post (ctrl-v).

"- New (DVD): Added support for new versions of the SONY Arccos protection
to the option to remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors", e.g.
"Blades of Glory" R1, US
Note: This new protection is supported by CloneDVD, CloneCD, DVDShrink
and Nero Recode without using the AnyDVD ripper!
- New (Blu-ray): Support for new titles
- Fix (DVD): False positive detection of Arccos on some unprotected titles
- Fix: Compatibility problem with Cruzer U3 memory stick
- Some minor fixes and improvements
- Updated languages"

on perfect stranger the quality bar is 57% (dvd5)

The quality bar is too low. I'd recommend splitting the movie across two discs.

dont know what speed

You should

but i dont alter settings (maybe max speed?)

Bad idea. Try 6x.

i dont think i have latest version but maybe 1 before.... so it was recent say maybe 1yr or less

Update to the latest version.

5) why do i need img burn? i know what it is but i bought clonedvd&anydvd for a reason...

Because Imgburn has a free tool that displays your filters. Clonedvd doesn't.

b

Now, this time, follow my instructions, and post your filters--or find someone else to help you if you're going to do nothing but argue.

what does this mean?

The quality bar is too low. I'd recommend splitting the movie across two discs.

this is actually nice quality 8) i usualy get red zone which is 44% i belive

dont know what speed

You should.
burning speed or reading speed? if its burning then im doing 8x what its described on TY (G02)

actually i checked it last night and this is the latest their is!....

bottom line i stil havnt figured it out why its making the movies look pixelated and show green blocks/squares

could it be blanks (again tayio youden flawless conditions)

dvd drives / computer or its software?

....... im out of ideals!!!! PLEASE HELP! thanks in advance:agree::D

james i need your help!!! : i have anydvd 6.1.7.0 and clonedvd2 2.9.1.2 and my problem is that my backups (full with menus) Perfect stranger and Disturbia come out with flaws such as Green blocks / pixelations!

here is my thread that explains most things.... http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=7369

updated latest possible drivers

using Tayio Youden (TYG02) 8x dvd-r

im out of ideals

Either follow my instructions this time--or this will be the last time I try to help you.

1. Update to Anydvd 6.1.7.1
click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=7343

2. Update your burner's firmware:
click http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=12794&postcount=10

3. Post Anydvd's status screen with the original disc:
see step 8 from http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=393

4. Try a 6x burn speed.

5. Are you using Taiyo Yuden Premiums--or Taiyo Yuden Value lines?

6. a) Download imgburn. It's a free program: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(it's also an excellent program imo)

b) Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. Click "Clipboard". Then paste the information you pasted into your clipboard into your next post (ctrl-v).

7. Do your backups play fine in your computer? How about in another standalone dvd player?

this is actually nice quality i usualy get red zone which is 44% i belive

Are you joking? I can see how bad that is on a 20" monitor.

what does this mean?

It means you don't need to right click on the fox icon on your toolbar and select "rip video-dvd to harddisk" before using Clonedvd.

bottom line i stil havnt figured it out why

Bottom line is I don't know unless you start answering questions (could be your blank media choice; could be your burner is dying; could be the compression level is too high/quality bar is too low; could be your standalone dvd player is dying; could be a protection on the original disc; could be a lot of things)

im not cosern how bad the quality is even though i know it is, but im consern about the flaws i see such as green blocks/pixelation, Making the movie Unwatchable!

It means you don't need to right click on the fox icon on your toolbar and select "rip video-dvd to harddisk" before using Clonedvd

Can you please do that for me? I've only asked 3 times now.
"Click the red fox icon in your system tray. Select "status" on the left hand side of your screen. With the Original disc inserted in your computer, click the appropriate drive tab letter (the drive containing the disc) in Anydvd. In the window below the drive letter, copy and paste the information Anydvd gives you into your post asking for help. If you made a backup, do this step for both the original disc and the backup, please."

do i post screenshot for the orginal movies? or both the orginas and copys?

and do you want me to post them before updating to beta version?

i' arldy d/l it but theirs not much info when i click on copy clipboard

Does the backup play fine in your computer?
Does the backup play fine in a standalone dvd player?

like i said i have these greenblocks/pixelation both on my pc and my 360 and my toshiba dvd player...

i burned them twice and the 2nd batch came out better but still piexlated...

do i post screenshot for the orginal movies? or both the orginas and copys?

and do you want me to post them before updating to beta version?

Update to Anydvd 6.1.7.1. Then post the status screen.
I don't need screenshots. Here's an example of what I want:

"The Lookout
Summary for drive D: (AnyDVD 6.1.7.0)
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

Media is a DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)
Size of first Layer: 1731600 sectors (3382 MBytes)
Total size: 3135288 sectors (6123 MBytes)

Video DVD (or CD) label: LOO0NNW1
Media is CSS protected!
Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1!

RCE protection not found.
DVD structure appears to be correct.
Found & removed structural copy protection (Arccos, Puppetlock)!
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Found & removed 2 bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!"

Now do that for the original disc and the backup using Anydvd 6.1.7.1. If you made a backup, do this step for both the original disc and the backup, please."

i' arldy d/l it but theirs not much info when i click on copy clipboard

Run imgburn. Go to the Tools menu in imgburn. Select "Filter Driver Load Order". Click the "Clipboard" button. Then paste the information you pasted into your clipboard into your next post (type "ctrl" and "v" at the same time on your keyboard when replying here; click in the white space, and hold down the cntrl and v keys).

like i said i have these greenblocks/pixelation both on my pc and my 360 and my toshiba dvd player

And I'm guessing the originals don't have that problem?

1. Have you considered the possibility that the quality level (listed in Clonedvd) is too low? Try splitting the video across two discs using the scissor tool in Clonedvd.

2. It's also possible that you came across some bad Taiyo Yuden 8x premiums (but that's pretty rare). Try some Verbatims.

3. It's possible this is some weird protection issue (outside of region 1), but since you seem to refuse to post the Anydvd status screen, I really have no idea.

4. It's possible your burner is slowly dying. Try another burner--or try that burner in another computer.

iduuno i havnt tried watching the new ones that i bought....

1. Have you considered the possibility that the quality level (listed in Clonedvd) is too low? Try splitting the video across two discs using the scissor tool in Clonedvd.

No the quality level is always lower and my movies come out flawless , these 2 movies (perfect stranger & disturbia are the only expcetions....

2. It's also possible that you came across some bad Taiyo Yuden 8x premiums (but that's pretty rare). Try some Verbatims.

im getting the same feeling, but this is the same batch that i did my earlier movies and most recent TMNT and it came out FLAWLESS, would it be possible that within a stack only a few could be bad?

3. It's possible this is some weird protection issue (outside of region 1), but since you seem to refuse to post the Anydvd status screen, I really have no idea.

Bad bad bad. Drag to disc is packet writing software. Uninstall it. Packet writing software is terrible and known to cause conflicts with other programs, including Slysoft software. If you want drag and drop functionality, then use dvd-ram instead, which is more stable.

You've got a lot of known software on your system that conflicts with Slysoft software and Clonedvd:

1. Dragtodisc
2. Musicmatch
3. Arcsoft

I recommend uninstalling all three programs. Then check to ensure the drivers I quoted no longer appear in your filters

OR

a) run imgburn
b)Go to "Tools"-->"Filter Drive Load Order"
c) Select " MXLW2K", "Cdralw2k", "Cdr4_xp" and "Afc"; select "remove selected filter" for all three. Then click "ok" and reboot.
Keep in mind whatever program(s) installed those filters will no longer function properly

I completely agree with Webslinger's comments. I have a few comments/questions of my own:

(1) One thing I haven't seen addressed is what does the movie look like viewed from the HDD before it is burned with CloneDVD2? Is there no pixellation or green blocks?

(2) If your burner handles DVD+R discs I would, personally, burn to DVD+R and not DVD-R discs even with the annoyance of bitsetting.

(3) Anything below around 70-75% quality becomes noticeable, IMHO. A computer monitor doesn't always look the same as a TV screen and as the size of the screen increases the lost quality becomes far more noticeable. I would never compress a movie to 57% let alone in the 40% range with CloneDVD2, Nero Recode, DVD Shrink or any other transcoding ripper. I'd remove content from the disc to increase quality, use DVD Rebuilder [which is not a transcoder] to reduce the size rather than transcoding, or use a DVD+R DL instead of a single layer DVD+R/DVD-R.

(4) I don't care what a DVD's speed rating is, I never ever burn at the maximum speed setting in CloneDVD2 and I never burn at the maximum rating speed of a DVD. If I burn with 16x rated DVDs then I usually burn at 8x and sometimes 12x and not 16x or 18x. If I am burning 8x rated DVDs then I burn at 6x but never 8x.

ACOSFT WAS RECENTLY INSTALLED, i could uninstall it but i doublt this will help as i hav this installed on my other XPS 700 and i ALSO burned TMNT on that one as well , using same disc too.

drag to music, and music match are completly unisntalled, or atlest i cant unstnstall any of it sine i dont see those options...

i also used CCleaner but no good.
I recommend uninstalling all three programs. Then check to ensure the drivers I quoted no longer appear in your filters

OR

a) run imgburn
b)Go to "Tools"-->"Filter Drive Load Order"
c) Select " MXLW2K", "Cdralw2k", "Cdr4_xp" and "Afc"; select "remove selected filter" for all four. Then click "ok" and reboot.
Keep in mind whatever program(s) installed those filters will no longer function properly

DrinkLyeAndDie;49059]I completely agree with Webslinger's comments. I have a few comments/questions of my own:
HEY thanks for your feedback bro really apriciate it 8)

(1) One thing I haven't seen addressed is what does the movie look like viewed from the HDD before it is burned with CloneDVD2? Is there no pixellation or green blocks?
i never watched the backed up thats on the hdd on the computer

(2) If your burner handles DVD+R discs I would, personally, burn to DVD+R and not DVD-R discs even with the annoyance of bitsetting.
(3) Anything below around 70-75% quality becomes noticeable, IMHO. A computer monitor doesn't always look the same as a TV screen and as the size of the screen increases the lost quality becomes far more noticeable. I would never compress a movie to 57% let alone in the 40% range with CloneDVD2, Nero Recode, DVD Shrink or any other transcoding ripper. I'd remove content from the disc to increase quality, use DVD Rebuilder [which is not a transcoder] to reduce the size rather than transcoding, or use a DVD+R DL instead of a single layer DVD+R/DVD-R.

i'v never had any issues with dvd-r and i dont have dvd+r eitehr way....

yeah i know quality loss but its doesnt boter me and im watching on all sorts of tvs (tube tv 38'' HD) tube 27'' NON HD but my issue is not regarding quality wise but Pixelation wise making it unwatchable.
If I am burning 8x rated DVDs then I burn at 6x but never 8x
again i'v never had an issue regarding a burning speed, i'v always burned in 8x as per disc saying its speed ratings....

If the source material is pixellated and green, then the backup will be as well. So troubleshooting is pretty pointless if the source material also displays the same problems.

As for everything else you typed, if you don't want to follow the instructions we gave you, then good luck. It doesn't matter whether you believe you uninstalled those programs; the drivers are still running on your system, regardless. It doesn't matter whether you believe Arcsoft won't cause any issues; it has on other systems (it might be causing problems on yours). It would be a good idea to try what we stated.

I already explained what to do earlier:

"a) run imgburn
b)Go to "Tools"-->"Filter Drive Load Order"

You didn't say they weren't either. You said you never watched them, so you don't know. You're burning files. Playback the files. Really, this is all very pointless if the originals that you are burning also exhibit the same problems.
