Hello,
I need help for a four disk set. All four disks behave as stated by the thread title. Attached are the logs.

Thanks for any help.

The gold standard that determines if AnyDVD is decoding properly is to play an original disc using PowerDVD on a PC with AnyDVD decoding the disc. If that playback is problem-free, then AnyDVD has done the job. So our question to you is: what were your conditions for playback? Details will be required in order to quickly get to the root of your problem.

Cheers,

Thank You Michael for replying to my call for help. I apologize for not providing additional info. My problems occur while trying to play the disks with PowerDVD 18 Ultra.
I start as shown in the first screenshot and progress to when the disk is loaded, but no screenshot. Then, the screen returns back to the first screenshot. AnyDVD is running in the background. The latest PowerDVD 18 Ultra is installed as is AnyDVD (8.2.5.0).

I can create a partial ISO using CloneBD, but unable to create a FULL functioning or PROTECTED ISO with AnyDVD running in the background. Is the problem with PowerDVD (since I can create a Partial ISO), AnyDVD or something else? I have had this problem with other Blu-Ray reissue titles and can only create PARTIAL ISOs.

Any ideas (from Anyone)?

There is a problem with BDlive content. It relies on a certificate that is backed by the AACS folder, which AnyDVD has to remove when de-protecting the disc.

There are two options to play with:
  1. open PowerDVD's player settings, section "Blu-ray disc", click on "extended settings", there you can check "allow connection with invalid certificate" or uncheck "activate network for BD-Live" or both or toggle... play around with it until pdvd behaves (this is based on PowerDVD 17, I don't have 18)
  2. let AnyDVD disable BDLive altogether, nobody really needs that anyway, its purpose is only for the studios to gather usage information imo.

I have PowerDVD 15 and 18. I tried your option 1 using for both 15 and 18 without success. Same results when I tried both options. When trying to check "activate network for BD-Live" I got screenshot 3b. These tests used a actual disk. I got the same results trying the options on recent PROTECTED files. I have a habit of saving all PROTECTED ISOs so I don't remember if any of these PROTECTED ISOs have the current PowerDVD problem. No problems with PowerDVD when playing back Partial ISOs which isn't a problem when creating them using CloneBD. Hopefully, I followed your instructions correctly.

Maybe some readers try to play back PROTECTED ISOs using PowerDVD as a check.

The 3b-picture seems to suggest, that something's wrong with your PowerDVD key, did you verify that?

These tests used a actual disk.
What does that mean precisely? A burnt BD-R copy? The original disc? With AnyDVD running? Not running?

Answer to your first question is NO. I noted that message and ignored it. I finally realized I had to unblock Firewall. I will get back to this issue later this weekend. My copies are LEGAL. I assumed and I guess incorrectly that (ignoring) the prompt for the serial number was a bad decision on my part. I have a copy of PowerDVD 17 and will try that if all fails, but I can't believe going from 17 to 18 would be an issue (maybe another bad assumption).
Answer to second question. Sorry, I am not using correct jargon. Yes, I should have stated the original Blu-Ray disk.

Thanks for getting back to me and I will report my findings later in the week.

OK, that would make sense (even if PowerDVD's error message would be very misleading in that case, but that's not a new thing with PowerDVD, error messages sometimes seem to be totally random and completely unrelated to the actual cause).

OK, and second part of the question was: "With AnyDVD running? Not running?".
That one is essential, because with AnyDVD running in the background, the original disc is effectively a copy from the player's point of view.

Similar problems with BDlive have been known some years ago, but as you can see in the forum, nobody has complained since, so it has to be something specific to your setup - and an incorrect PowerDVD license or failed activation seems worth following up.

I had two issues with the Firewall as the host file being the last. I had to re-install both PowerDVD 15 and 18 and "Allow connection when certification is invalid" box checked. I have been using 15 for some time, but somehow I missed the problems with BDlive in the past. Thank You for enlightening me and making me a little more informed. I suspected something I did or not to do was the problem because no one else seem to be complaining lately. Forgot to say both PowerDVD 15 and 18 are able to view Blu-Ray disks! This fix should fix several issues I have had in the past.
