LG BE16NU50, I was wondering is this Burner UHD Friendly?
Also can I use Original Disc Encrypted to play on CyberLink PowerDVD?
And yes I also want to make UnEncrypted with it.
I love to have it external rather then internal burner.
A other External burner is also okay!
But it must be buyable into Europe! Not America or Asian / Japan!
Kind Regards.

P.S> I Also must have M-Disc!
Because I need some back-up for many years to work.

Website:
http://www.lg.com/us/burners-drives/lg-BE16NU50-external-blu-ray-dvd-drive
http://www.mdisc.com/m-ready/ it has all 4.7, 25, 50, 100.

It is an UHD friendly drive, but LG removed LG friendlyness with firmware version 1.02.
If you have v1.02, you need to make a firmware downgrade as described here:

According to this guide you can convert a friendly drive into a real UHD drive, but i haven't read any reports about such a converted drive's capability regarding PowerDVD playback.
No need to say the rest of your system has to be UHD compliant as well.

I want to buy a new one in a Online Store.
But I don't know what Firmware it has if I connect it to my PC how can I see what firmware it has? And yes how can I see it into Device Manager maybe?
Or must I look at the Bar Code just like PSP/PS3 got hacked?

Neither. Hook the drive up to your PC, it'll be mentioned next to the drive model in the anydvd status window

Thanks for the Head's Up! ;)
Definally going to try it if something goes wrong can I return it or must I keep it because I changed the firmware if I must change it?

Ch3vr0n: Heb jij het toevallig ooit getest, en welke BD-Burner gebruik jij toevallig? ;)

English only please, and mine's the bh16ns55 @ FW 1.02. bought purely for testing, don't own a single uhd disc (don't have any uhd gear otherwise)
