Kong Skull Island

Looks like a possible drive issue. Everything error comes after the first initial "troublemaker" which is " 7.01s: WM_POWERBROADCAST 0x5" That one causes about 260-270 read errors. Either the drive has trouble reading the disc or a possible loose cable

That's weird. I have no troubles with any other discs and this drive. I had 4 other new released BluRays in the same delivery and I had no issues with them. The hardware I din't touch for almost a year, so I doubt its any loose cable. Unfortunately I have no other BluRay drive available here to test. I guess I take that possibility up for investigation after my holiday.

But what bothers me that if I disable AnyDVD the disc seems also to be recognized much faster on the same computer. Currently I do not have any player installed on this computer but I will try that as well and see if PowerDVD can play the disc with the same drive.

I see you're using beta .8 try reverting to beta .7 out the lastest stable release 8170.

When I first got the disk I had AnyDVD 8.1.7.0 installed. As I had the problems I tried AnyDVD 8.1.7.7 already. After I read there are improvements in "Support for copy protection with read errors" in AnyDVD 8.1.7.8 I tried that one as well.

Problem remains the same with the current stable or the last two betas.

I can't immediately say it's a defective disc. All read errors/problems with that disc are consequences from that first powerbroadcast issue. I'd say the drive is having problems calculating the proper laser strength to read the disc. Try it in a different computer if u can, whether PowerDVD can read it is irrelevant, that's not the same as creating a copy on the hard drive.

Because as I've told others I don't speak German but I understand it a bit as it's similar to my native language Dutch (both are Germanic languages), but as a moderator and somewhat expert user that won't stop me from trying to help.

Irgendwelche Ideen?

And another example par excellence that sometimes silence is golden.

Also ich hole jetzt meine 3.
