So I've run nto trouble with DL burns not playing on one of my set top DVD layers. The originals play fine in that unit. The burns play in my other players (new ones that are cheap POS from walmart for under $25). Even some single layer burns have trouble.
For single layer media I've been using TY and for DL Verbatum burning at 1x with ClodeDVD2 2.9.1.2 (ripped with same+AnyDVD 6.1.7.0 running) on a LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-160P6S PS0B firmware.
The question is how come the "pros" can burn on whatever crappy media they use (vso inspector can't identify the media) and I can't get as good results? Do I need to get a fancy "industrial" burner? What are the top/best burners one can obtain and what are the best/reasonably priced options (let's be real we rip and burn 'cause we are cheap at heart). I don't really mind paying for quality burners and media because in the long run it still saves money. Is there available better DL media than the Verbatum?
