Any suggestions for how to combine multiple disks into a single encoded file? I've looks at some 3rd party utilities to do so after encoding, but there's alot to the file/time markers that I'm not comfortable modifying. Can ClonBD have an option added for spanning disks?

No, the main reason being that 3D backups simply arent supported yet at all in disk mode. 3D currently can only be copied over in file mode ( SBS or OU mkv etc) or 2D disc mode.

I'm actually using file mode, MKV, but have some 3D titles that are two disks in length. So to encode the movie, wind up with two files. Just asking if a feature could be added for allowing two disks to be combined into one file, or if there's another method for doing so that somebody with more knowledge could suggest.

I'm move this to feature requests then, since it's not for functionality. You'd have to process both discs first to temp files and then merge the 2 into one. That's basic video encoder functionality. Any generic video merger can merge 2 files.

So, yes, I've looked at the merge process, the chapter markers in file 2 start at 1 so you end up with two chapter 1, two chapter 2, etc. The chapter markers are beginning time of 0:0:0 of source file and to have the markers continue from where file one leaves off, you have to completely re-calculate the time markers. That's just a lot of work that a computer program should be able to do easily, without a dummy like me messing up and wasting the time it took to make the files.

If it's done right you don't end up with double chapters. If that's happening then the merging program isn't doing it right. Any proper merging is done by simply processing the first file, then pasting the second file at the end of file one. You don't get double chapters that way.

I think you're right, after looking at MKVToolNIX again, I believe that what was happening was simply 'user error'. :)

hasn't there been a post that told you can merge 2 files with tsmuxer by selecting the ssif instead of the mpls?
i tried it for titanic but id didn't work, but maybe i did something wrong.

I created a method to combine using ssif files via TSMuxerGUI. It was documented by @Blackssr on avsforum.

1)Create a full image of disc 1 and disc 2 on your hard drive using ANYDVD HD.

2)Mount each disc with virtual CD.

3)Launch version 2.6.12 of tsMuxeR GUI

4)Under the “input” tab click the “add” button.

5)Browse to the disc 1 mounted image. Navigate to the SSIF folder and choose stream “00001.ssif”

6)Uncheck any extra audio and subs you do not wish to keep.

7)Click the “join” button and browse to the disc 2 mounted image. Navigate to the SSIF folder and choose stream “00001.ssif”

8)Click the Blu-ray tab and choose “custom chapter list” to manually add (copy and paste) the chapter points using the text file provided below.

9)Return to “input” tab and choose “Blu-ray” ISO as output and choose your final output destination.
