A little help? This happened with 2 recent DVDs (which I though size-wize was only6 supposed to be 4.3 GB) but its saying 4.7 GB. Dont know if the size is the issue, however, soon as I put the blank DVD in, i get this error.

Anyone?
Thanks!

1. Use Nero Recode then

2. Do step 8 from here: http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=321

3. Uninstall whatever installed cdr4_xp

4. a) Download imgburn. It's a free program: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(it's also an excellent program imo)

b) Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. Click "Clipboard". Then paste the information you pasted into your clipboard into your next post (ctrl-v).

Uninstall Roxio's Directcd and ensure those two entries I quoted no longer appear in your filters.

I dont have roxio installed.. I have ArcSoft Showbiz DVD;
Nero 7 Ultra Edition, Slysoft...
I think those are the only programs I have in here that have to do with the DVD. I understand they say Roxio, but dont know how to remove / replace them if I dont have the program in there to uninstall.
Thanks

Well, you have directcd filters on your system, so it seems likely you have directcd somewhere.

Regardless, those entries I quoted have to go.

Do I just remove the files? Rename them? delete them?

Should I install roxio just so I can uninstall them?

Does the soze of 4700 MB vs the 4300 it was before have anything to do with it?

a) Download imgburn. It's a free program: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(it's also an excellent program imo)

b) Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. Select "Cdr4_2K" and "Cdralw2k". Then select "remove selected filter" for each one. Then click "ok" and reboot.

c) check to ensure those entries are no longer listed

Keep in mind whatever program installed those entries will no longer work properly.

d) update to Anydvd 6.1.7.0

1. Update to Anydvd 6.1.7.0

2. Do step 8 from here: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=321

3. Try this: http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=476

OK.. already have 6170

What about the size? I am pretty sure it used to be 4.3 GB, but something changed and now its trying to fit into a 4.7.. Is that right? I created a custom size of 4300 MB to fit. Could it also be the DVD which has some tyoe of soecial encoding?

The disc is 7.3 GB. That's fine.

Again, use this method:

Tried with a different DVD successfully. It failed when I tried the one it failed on originally. I am sending the IFO files to you. Is there anything else you need?

Your original disc is likely bad and needs to be replaced (if we're talking about the Indiana Jones disc). There's no protection on the disc other than CSS. Almost anything can handle that disc.

1. What was the full error message you received?
2. What program and version number gave you that error message?
3. Provide the Anydvd status screen of the original disc you were having problems with.
4. Try cleaning your disc. Download Nero cd-dvd speed. It's a free program. With Anydvd running in the background, select the tab labeled "scandisc". Select the appropriate drive letter, and click "start". If Nero cd-dvd speed reports read errors, your disc is (probably) bad and needs to be exchanged--even if it plays fine (or your optical drive could be slowly dying).
5. Ensure you do step 10 from here, if you're going to be posting .ifos:
http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=330

I do not work for Slysoft by the way, so it won't be me you're sending the .ifos to.

The full error message is descibed in the beginning of this thread.. This is from AnyDVD upon putting in Fun w. Dick and Jane:

This one failed with the same error message only with:
Required file VTS_94_0.VOB not present.
DVD-Video Reallocation failed.

Nero Ultimate 2.5.5.0 gave me the error message and failed to burn cause its missing that file.
Perhaps a new protection??

Ohh . . .

1. Click this link and read fully:
http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=3992
With Arcoss protected discs, you need to use Anydvd ripper if you're going to be using Nero Recode.

2. read http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/recode2.htm and follow the guide
