I don't know what exactly it was that AnyDVD did in this update, but if I did know, maybe it would help figure out what exactly is wrong with my drive. I thought I had fixed it when I uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled and rebooted, but now its back to not working.
What happens: constantly getting the message "Your disc is dirty or damaged!" ,etc. when trying to copy a disc.
Blank media is recognized by the drive after a minute or so, but not recordable. When burning, it stays at "0%" for about 10-15 minutes, and then the drive spits it out saying that its not compatible.
Switched media to HP DVD+R, it burns about halfway, and then it spits it out.
When I did get to copy a disc, it copied about halfway and then spit it out.
ALL DVDs DO PLAY (regardless of messages that AnyDVD gives me saying they are dirty or damaged) - they just don't copy or burn now.
I'm intentionally not providing all my drive info, disc info, media info because I know that, before Saturday, and before 6.1.6.6, everything worked perfectly. I'm hoping that the new update will put everything back to normal. And since AnyDVD updates every few days, it should be soon hopefully.
Its just a shame that this update affected the amount of people it has.
and PS: I did do the regedit thing.
