Hello all, I just downloaded the new Clone DVD patch 2.9.0.1 and doing a AVG scan, it's picked up FOUR Trojan Horse Generic5.ZUE from this patch download. What's up with this? Is it safe to remove these? WHY do I have them in the 1st Place,,, somebody please explain this to me? What is this for?
ANYDVD ROCKS !!!:bowdown::bowdown:

Comodo doesn't detect any problems!

I suggest you check your AV software.

Provided you downloaded from Elby or Slysoft's website no viruses exist, and your antivirus program is giving you a false positive. If you downloaded the program elsewhere, you take your chances then.

Hi Webslinger, as my message says, I downloaded right from SlySoft when I was informed of a update to CloneDVD, and at the same time I got the new ANYDVD Update(last night). My PC is scanned every-other day by AVG, and this is the 1st time it's picked anything up from a Elby update. Key name for Trojan is: "Trojan Horse Generic5.ZUE", there were FOUR of them listed in various forms but all had the above mention 5.ZUE file name. Why would a false positive be named exactly as noted 4 times? ibet with various extensions? I have always trusted Elby products in the past, and never had an issue with any updates, so I'm wondering WHY these files were in my download from SlySoft, is it possibly a programming error? Am I the only one who got this flag from AVG ?

I don't use AVG. If AVG is wrong, it will remain wrong each and every time you download, unless you change a setting or until its virus definitions change.

My antivirus programs are up to date and don't warn me of anything when I download from Slysoft and ELBY.

Any file you're downloading from Slysoft's website does not contain a trojan.

Again, if you download elsewhere, you take your chances. But there's absolutely no trojan being downloaded from Slysoft's website. Period.

I'm not saying you don't have a trojan on your system, but you didn't get it from Slysoft's website.

OK Webslinger, I BELIVE You!,,,Like I said, this is a new one on me! I wouldn't have posted if it didn't happen. I can try doing an uninstall of AVG and putting it back if I get the same trojan notes after a restart and re-install of AVG. Thanks for the help,,,,,,,,,,,I will give it another shot tomorrow and see what is detected:agree:

@ Buddy,

If you download Software from the Official SlySoft Web Site or the Official Elaborate Bytes Web Site the Software doesn’t contain any Virus/Trojan/Malware.

If you obtained your copy of CloneDVD version 2.9.0.1 Software from the Official SlySoft Web Site or the Official Elaborate Bytes Web Site your problem lies with your Grisoft AVG software program and not with the CloneDVD version 2.9.0.1 software.

If you obtained your CloneDVD version 2.9.0.1 software from the Official SlySoft Web Site or the Official Elaborate Bytes Web Site suggest that you contact Grisoft Technical Support (http://www.grisoft.com) and request assistance with their AVG software program.

If you obtained your CloneDVD version 2.9.0.1 software from another source other than the Official SlySoft Web Site or the Official Elaborate Bytes Web Site then who knows what your “Trojan” might be.

Regards,
Coaster

Maybe one should try CloneDVD 2.9.1.0 instead of CloneDVD 2.9.0.1.....

People are having trouble with (and James is making adjustments to stop) the "initialise-dynamic() failed!" error message for Vista users. Could this trigger an AV reaction?

ive got vista ultimate with avg pro and have no issues with false positives/trojans from anything slysoft/elby.
just scanned with avg. perhaps they updated definitions before i scanned? otherwise you might have a trojan problem unrelated to cdvd.

Everytime I have seen this problem in the past, it was because the user (or someone in their house) downloaded updates from a site other than Slysoft, but was ignorant of that fact or brazened it out that that is not the case in order to try and get some help. Buddy, I'm not saying that that is what you did, but has anyone else been at your machine lately.

Over the years I have seen Slysoft releases and Slysoft betas but have yet to see a Slysoft "patch", and one numbered many versions behind their latest release. These facts would tend to add some confusion.....

2.9.0.1 isn't even a version the latest is version 2.9.1.0 :D

The latest upgrade is patch 2.9.0.1 what's confusing about that?

I stand corrected. I saw for the first time a CloneDVD2 version 2.9.0.1 patch. I googled CloneDVD 2.9.0.1 patch and got a volumous listing of all manner of "cracks" and "keygen" sites for this version, most notably from a series of pirate boards. The official version of CloneDVD2 ver. 2.9.0.1 was released by Slysoft in Aug of 2006.

Buy the programs and stop downloading pirated versions and you won't have near as many problems.....

Somehow I suspected that already.

I tried to be polite above. So is this confirmed now? That we have all wasted our time on a two page thread when we were dealing with a pirated update all along and that's why he had trojans? ... geez!

Sometimes I hate this job. Prove us wrong Buddy, or join ssf all over again as a new guy with a new name and a new fresh start.

My new caveat: you don't get trojans from the slysoft site. And I'll challenge the first posting of any such claim!
