Two questions:

1) Does CloneDVD Mobile support coversion to H.264?

2) I noticed on some non-anamorphic wide-screen movies that I own, that CloneDVD Mobile doesn't bring up the zoom tool (Full/Half/Cinemascope) to remove the big black bars on top/bottom. The resulting movie looks very narrow and hard to see on an iPhone. Is there a way to get rid of black bars on a wide-screen non-anamorphic DVD?

Thanks.

regarding question 1: as far as i'm aware, clonedvdmobile converts to various mpeg4 formats only.

That's too bad...there are a lot of DVD to iPhone products now that convert to H.264, which means you can store a lot more movies on your iPhone or iPod without sacraficing quality. I wonder if CloneDVD Mobile is planning to offer this in the future?

I am incredibly unimpressed by the iPhone.

Looks fatastic and has great operational features, but no 3G, no stereo bluetooth, no MMS messaging. What's all that about then? I thought this was a hone for the future but it lacks major features already available on other major brands.

i found a cdvdm profile thats supposed to make h264

add this to your devices.ini file

i think you need the h264 codec installed. it does work to create files. and they do play back, although i dont know if its really a h264 file, as i saves it in a .mp4 container. it makes a file that is smaller (2/3-3/4 the size) than divx with the same quality. this leads me to believe that its working, but i really cant say for sure.
