Help when I try to update to the new version , set up starts to run then I get a message saying Error opening file for writing "C:\ProgramFiles\Slysoft\AnyDVD\AnyDVD.exe" Any help would be appreciated

a) Keep your license key file backed up safely
b) Uninstall Anydvd (start-->all programs-->Slysoft--->Anydvd-->Uninstall)
c) Reboot
d) Try running a registry cleaner program at this point like CCleaner
e) Download Anydvd http://static.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD.exe
f) Exit all Slysoft programs (including Anydvd, Clonedvd2, Clonecd, Clonecdtray, Clonedvdmobile, etc.). Check Windows Task Manager if you have to.
g) At this point disable your antivirus and firewall programs
h) Reinstall
i) Reboot
j) Install your license key (if required) http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=732
k) At this point enable your antivirus and firewall programs

I have found teatimer enabled on Spybot - Search & Destroy can cause this problem. Just letting people know.

Error Updating AnyDVD

Slysoft is sleek, elegant, professional, very user friendly, etc.

The update problem appears limited to AnyDVD. At least that is what I recall. The only way I could get AnyDVD.exe deleted, was to reboot in standard mode and manually delete AnyDVD.exe. I suppose rebooting after having set msconfig to diagnostic startup would also do it. But all that is time consuming and should be unnecessary.

So I sure hope the next update of AnyDVD will have this update glitch fixed.

I for one can't afford the time to spend diddling with SB Search & Destroy, registries, etc.

So, please you guys at Slysoft fix this glitch and maintain your unbroken record of excellence

You can disable the auto-start of Anydvd within the program settings. Also you need to close all Slysoft programs before update any of them. You dont need to delete anydvd.exe

As the vast majority of us are unable to reproduce this issue, I'm not sure how they could even begin to address it. I've had no issues updating Anydvd on three different systems.
