Dear Sirs,
I have just installed the latest editions of AnyDVD and CloneDVD. I had just updated on 3-2-08 and things were going perfectly. I updated yesterday and now it hangs up every time when I go to burn the new disk.
AnyDVD seems to scan everything perfectly. Then I fire up CloneDVD and it seems to upload everything just fine into the buffer. But, when I go to burn the new disk, it gives me an error saying "This writer is not capable of writing the source data as requested. To write these DVD files please use the 'Copy DVD Titles' or 'Clone DVD' option from the start screen." I then clicked on the "Details" tab and it said "WriteDVD 14W2"
I spent an hour on these forums at lunch break today and thought I'd figured out my problem. I read all the stickies, and I saw where about 100 guys had posted on this and Webslinger in every case said the answer was to set the Quality Level on the Clone DVD bar to DVD-5. Cool, I have the answer!
But I came home and went to fix it and it was already set on that.
I ensured that DVD-5 was selected. It was. I ran it on a movie I'd copied in the past and it bombed. I set it to Custom and made it 4600; that bombed too. I uninstalled both AnyDVD and CloneDVD and reinstalled the previous versions that had worked fine. I got the same error, with DVD-5 selected.
Here are the scans from three movies that did the above mentioned behavior:

I have an NEC drive that works perfectly (and worked perfectly with these two programs before I installed the latest versions of the software) I get the email notifications when the newest version comes out and so just upgraded. I have no packet writing software on this computer. I am running the burner at 8x and it has worked perfectly at that speed.
Everything was working fine until I upgraded to the latest versions. I must have inadvertantly changed some setting, but darn if I can figure out what it is. It's not the DVD-5.
Can you help me please?
Thanks,
Jim
