DVD to mpeg2

I was refered to clonedvd to convert my DVDs to standart mpeg2
files for use on my pc and PS3 but I have run into an issue. I am
using the latest versions of anydvd and clonedvd.

I have been able to open the DVD in the program, and
then I select "Copy DVD". I select just the main movie track (its about
an hour an a half) and then tell it to save to a new movie directory
on my hard drive and click go. It completes ok but when I go to look
at the files it made it shows the main movie was broken up into 4 VOB
files. Is it possible to have it save the move in a single file?

I am told that I can then just rename the VOB file to MPG and it should
play just fine. Oh, and I also tried to change it from DVD-5 to custom
but it still broke it up into 4 files.

Also, is there a guide on how to use this program for this purpose?

Thanks!

DVD to MPEG2 for Archos

I have exactly the same problem with my Archos. I am copying my DVD's for use on my Archos 704, but because CloneDVD breaks the movie into 3/4 VOBs, when I get to the end of the first VOB the movie stops and I have to manually start the next VOB. DVD Shrink has the option to create a single VOB, but DVD Shrink does not cope with all my DVDs. On the basis that there is no other way of getting my DVD onto my Archos, as Archos don't supply or recommend any software - where else can we go?
