CloneDVD2

4) Specify the a)full title Gridiron Gang, b)region code 1, c) country Canada, and d) release date of the disc that you're experiencing issues with. 01/16/2007

7) At what speed are you burning your blank media? 16x

2) Also, ensure you're using Nero Ultra 7.7.5.1. Based on your first post, you're using an old version.

3) Out of curiosity, does Clonedvd2 work for you on this title? If not, what is the error message?

2. trying to update now

3. I can burn it but it will not burn in the right format. It won't play in the dvd player or the computer, but the files go onto the dvd but they will not play.

I can burn it but it will not burn in the right format

Are you sure? In this case, I suspect the problem is your Memorex blank media, which, no offense, tends to be junk. Try Verbatim (CMC) discs, Taiyo Yuden, Maxell Broadcast Quality discs, MAM-A Gold archival quality discs, etc. The last two I mentioned are very expensive and not easily found. So, I suspect that would solve your problem with Clonedvd2.

As for Nero Recode, it looks like the version of Recode you were using can't handle this
movie with Anydvd 6.1.1.4. Looks to me as though there is a faulty pointer that's telling Recode it needs
"VTS_14_0.VOB" (but I could be wrong).

"10:10:29 AM #2 DVDREALLOC -21 File DVDVideoCompilation.cpp, Line 1211
Required file 'VTS_14_0.VOB' is not present

10:10:29 AM #3 Phase 115 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 278

10:10:29 AM #4 Text 0 File NeroAPIBurnFS.cpp, Line 212

It's possible updating to Nero 7.7..5.1 will help you. It's still possible it won't work.

If after trying my suggestions, it still doesn't work (that is Clonedvd2 still isn't doing the job after trying better blank media), please do this:

http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=2402&postcount=1

I doubt the Canadian version has new a new protection on it that the U.S. version doesn't, but it probably doesn't hurt to send the .ifos anyway.

I am also Canadian and ripped Gridiron gang with no problems using anydvd 6.1.0.7
Using Verbatim and burning on LG burner.

I agree with Webslinger, I would look real hard at those Memorex discs as your problem source.

Okay, I want to let you know I have alerted Slysoft that you have posted some ifos to look at.

That said, I suspect Clonedvd2 will work, provided you use some better blank media.

That's the best I can do for you at the moment.

This is usually "Extras". You can usually ignore that stuff.

ok I'll try CloneDVD2 with different media. Can you walk me through the process? I already have the files on my Hard Disk.

ok I'll try CloneDVD2 with different media. Can you walk me through the process? I already have the files on my Hard Disk.

Delete those files first please.

1. Visit your burner's website, and update your burner's firmware

2. Use good quality blank media. Try Verbatim (CMC), Maxell Broadcast Quality, Taiyo Yuden, etc.

3. Use Nero cd-dvd speed to change the booktype: http://www.cdspeed2000.com/
This is a free program. (Click "Extra", then "Bitsetting". Make the change to "dvd-rom" for the disk type that
you're using and click "set".) This step improves playback compatibility with standalone dvd players.

4. Have Anydvd running on your toolbar. Stick the original disc in your optical reader.

5. Select "Clone DvD" from Clonedvd2's startup menu.

6. Select your optical reader in "dvd video files"

7. Choose the titles you want to backup

8. If you want to split the movie over two single layer blanks, use the scissor icon towards the bottom of the screen and select the beginning and end chapters that you want to burn. This feature is pretty easy to figure out. Clonedvd2, unlike Shrink and Recode can retain the original menus while splitting across two single layer discs.

9. Click "preserve menus" if you want to preserve the menus.

10. Select "dvd-5" if you want to compress to a single layer disc. Select "dvd+/-r dl" if you don't want to compress and are using Verbatim +R DL media (for example).

11. Click next

12. Select the audio and subtitles you want to backup.

13. Click next

14. Select "dvd writer" for the output method

15. Below that, select the appropriate burner. Ensure you have an appropriate burn speed selected on this screen.

16. Click "Go"
