I'm new here really don't have time to look around...

I paid for anydvd, it was working fine until I updated it a few days ago.I kept getting the notice for the update but ignored it because I didn't want it to stop working & now that's exactly what happened.
I have vista if that means anything... shouldn't being that it was working fine for weeks.

That didn't help at all.
Like I said before... it worked until I updated it.

I did what you said and nothing. I un-installed it re-downloaded it and installed it and still nothing.

1. Do you get an error message? If so, please provide the full error message.

2. What's the problem exactly? What does "still nothing" mean? Basically, how are you able to determine Anydvd isn't working?

Because it's telling me that....

The message is:

AnyDVD Application has stopped working.
A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I re-installed everything again for a third time. Wiped out all the registration info and started over and I still get that message.

ok. give me a few minutes and I'll be back to let you know what happens.....

I wanna throw this laptop out the window.

It's still giving me the same message. I really don't know what the problem is. It was prefectly fine before I updated it.
I shut my avg completely down and tried running it without that - but that isn't it either.

What happens if you disable User account control in Vista?

By the way, step 4 does require that you post information.

I have no clue what any of that means. lol

It said click start, run...

I don't have it on this computer unless it's somewhere different in vista....

When I installed the program it put a filters file on my desktop and thats what the last post was.

I'll be back in about an hour, I've got to get my kids ready for bed.
I'm determined to get this fixed tonight!!

Thanks for the help so far..... I shall return!

That's for Windows XP users.

Vista is the only Windows operating system with User Account Control.

By the way, your filters look fine.

Other than disabling User Account Control and doing this, which you claim didn't help, I have no further suggestions.

I have no idea why Anydvd would be crashing while running on your system, unless something on your system is interfering.

I'm guessing Anydvd is crashing at startup.

So what happens if you try to run Anydvd manually--after Anydvd crashes when you bootup?

And did you run CCleaner?

Yes, I ran the CCleaner.
I've tried starting it every way I know how.
I just don't get how it could be vista or something on my laptop, it was fine before. I didn't do anything different this time then when I first got it.
