I'm wondering if anyone is having any problems with CloneDVD reading. Its only on one disc, Wild Wild West. I've had this happen before but usually I just start over and its fine. Thanx in advance.

Oops sorry about that.

Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

When I put the DVD in to make a copy. The screen where it begins to read to find out how much compression to do on the original disc it gets to 90% and the drive stops reading. It doesn't even spin up anymore. I thought the drive might be going out but I have been able to copy two more DVD's after I began having this problem. I am using CloneDVD 2.9.0.3 and AnyDVD 6.1.4.3 Maybe its AnyDVD didn't get all the copyright parts, but it's a semi older movie Wild Wild West from 1999. Thanx again.

1. Use Anydvd 6.1.4.5 or later if a newer version exists
2. Use Clonedvd 2.9.0.6 or later if a newer version exists
3. Run VSO inspector and scan the disc. VSO inspector is a free program. If VSO inspector reports read errors either the disc is damaged/defective or your drive is dying.

There is so little protection on that disc that DVD Shrink could handle it by itself without Anydvd.

I downloaded the latest AnyDVD and CloneDVD, but no difference. I also downloaded VSO Inspector, but I'm not sure how to work the thing. I ran a test on Wild Wild West and the surface scan never finished, just had error after error. I was curious so I tried another DVD that I have all ready copied and is brand new and I still get errors at the end of the disc. Not sure what is going on. Should I be doing a file scan rather than a surface scan?

How's the disc itself look? I've bought a few movies from pawnshops that look like crap that would definitely fit into the "I can't back this crap up" category. Good luck!

Did you try a different disc on that computer? Did you try that disc on a different computer?

The disc has a little bit of scratches but not enough to really do anything.

I have no other computers to try the disc on because none of them can read DVD's or burn DVD's.

You can do a file scan if you want. More than likely the disc is damaged in some manner even if it plays fine though. Please do steps 3 and 4 (note that step 4 requires you to post information; do not start deleting filters randomly).

I did step 3 and still get errors and step 4 gives me all this info. I'm guessing I should just give up on trying to back up this disc.

A Lower Filter found is: DRVMCDB

Used by Sonic and Veritas. Yet unknown in which software it is used (possibly backup software).

Uninstall your Sonic software until the filters I quoted are no longer listed when you check.
