Hi I am new to anydvd and it seems that after I write to a disc, it takes and additional hour to flush the folders and write the boarders. Am I doing something wrong?

As AnyDVD does not write at all, I assume your are talking about CloneDVD, right?

I am using clonedvd2, and an hp dvd writer 640b (rev E152) speed is set to max. Any ideas?

1. Update your burner's firmware (if available)

2. Use good quality media only

3. Iolo Antivirus with System Mechanic issue

I recently had problems with CloneDVD when writing to a blank DVD, I kept getting an error at 99%. I figured out that System Mechanic 7 Pro with Iolo Antivirus was the culprit.

Now before I start AnyDVD and then CloneDVD, I turn off the iolo antivirus and everything is working fine again.

It seems reasonable to suspect other Antivirus programs might interfere as well.

4. Disable the .wav sound that plays at the end of the burn

It may be hanging on the .wav file at the end of the burn.
Click on the preferences tab in Clonedvd, blank the "successful completion of operations" box, and see if this resolves your problem.
You can use the browse button next to it to reinstate success .wav

5. Try lowering your burn speed (not below 4x; if you have a 16x burner and 16x rated media try writing to it at 12x or 8x instead of 16x)

6. Avoid sticker labels (they tend to cause problems)

7. Try setting a custom size of 4300 in Clonedvd (but if you're using good media, you shouldn't have to) if you're using regular single layer dvd-5 (4.7GB) discs.

Bad burn quality is notorious around the end of discs (see step 7 )
and also at layer breaks when using low quality DL media (use Verbatim +R DL media, and change the booktype to "dvd-rom)

8. Click this

Do what it says to do.

Use one of the programs mentioned, and list your Lowerfilters and Upperfilters in your next post.

Or for XP users only,
Click Start, Run
type regedit
Go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Current Control Set\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
We want what's listed in "LowerFilters" and "UpperFilters". List your Lowerfilters and Upperfilters in your next post.
