I have been using AnyDVD for years and never had any problems--now I have a major one and don't know what to do. AnyDVD will not scan my DVDs so I followed the thread on how to uninstall and reinstall. Here is my problem-AnyDVD works when I use the trial version, but as soon as I go through the steps to install my license key, AnyDVD will not scan my DVDs. I sure hope someone can help me. I am not very computer literate so I am at a loss. Please help me!!

No, I don't get the message trial period has ended. When I look at the information on AnyDVD--it says it is registered to me. Do you think I should get another key and try it? Thanks so much for trying to help me.

I put the DVDs that I want to copy in drive D and copy on drive E. After putting the DVD into drive D, I do not get the message about scanning the DVD and after waiting about 5 minutes, I check the status on AnyDVD and it says that drive D is empty even though there is a DVD in the drive.

Can you see a video_ts folder using windows explorer on drive "d"?

Click "start"
select "my computer"
right click on drive "d"
select "explore"

Do you see anything?

I still had the disk in drive D and just now followed your instructions--the only thing that came up when I went into Explore was the message saying please insert a disk into drive D.

Uninstall Anydvd and check again:

1) Keep your license key file backed up safely
2) Uninstall Anydvd (start-->all programs-->Slysoft--->Anydvd-->Uninstall)
3) Reboot
4) Try running a registry cleaner program at this point like CCleaner
5) insert movie in drive d
6) Click "start"
7) select "my computer"
8 ) right click on drive "d"
9 ) select "explore"

Now do you see anything?

A Lower Filter found is: drvmcdb

"drvmcdb - Used by Sonic and Veritas. Yet unknown in which software it is used (possibly backup software)."

A Lower Filter found is: sscdbhk5

"sscdbhk5 - A Shared Driver Component used by Veritas and Sonic Solutions. Yet unknown which program it belongs to. "

1. Uninstall Sonic or Veritas software until those two filters I quoted are no longer listed in your lowerfilters. Do not do any of the other steps until those two filters I quoted are no longer listed.
2. Exit all Slysoft programs (including Anydvd, Clonedvd2, Clonecd, Clonecdtray, Clonedvdmobile, etc.). Check Windows Task Manager if you have to.
3. Download Anydvd
4. At this point disable your antivirus and firewall programs
5. Install the file you just downloaded
6. Reboot
7. Install your license key (if required) http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=732
8. At this point enable your antivirus and firewall programs
9. Click "start"
10. select "my computer"
11. right click on drive "d"
12. select "explore"

Do you see anything?

Thanks

Thank you so much for putting in such a long time in helping me. I got frustrated and just got back to the computer today. After still having all sorts of problems and fooling around with a new disk and the disk drive I was having trouble with--D,I found out that nothing was wrong with the computer or your software. The trouble was that my DVD-Rom had died!! I just wonder why the computer said that drive D was working normally. We went out today and bought a new one and everything is working just dandy!! Thank you so much for your help.

The trouble was that my DVD-Rom had died!!

When they start acting up, it's a bit difficult to figure out what's going on sometimes . . .

By the way, it's not my software; I don't work for Slysoft.

Anyway, I'm glad everything is working for you now.
