I have been using both ClodeVDV and AnyDVD for the last couple of years without issue. Until this week on both my laptop and home pc I suddenly cannot copy anything after updating both programs on both systems. My home PC gives me bad media messages on the 15 dvd's in a row from different lots and spindles of dvd's......The laptop is telling me nothing but the CSS protections are not being unlocked and the burnt dvd's are blank. They won't load or show any data on them when finished. Its hard to believe both go at the same time.........any issues or suggestions? Thanks.

Ok, I tried everything here......Nada.

I have been involved with the forums for the past week trying to figure out what is up with my AnyDVD/CloneDVD2....I am unable to copy anything after at least 2 years of trouble free copying. On 2 different computers, both at the same time, with no new installs except for the upgrades recommended by AnyDVD or CloneDVD2. On one, a Dell laptop, claims all DVD's are CSS protected and actually makes it through the entire cycle except the DVD's are blank and coasters at the end. I then use another DVD to make a data cd and it burns just fine also makes audio cd's just fine. On the desktop, it won't make it through a burn without giving the old "Bad media" error message. I Have tried all of the fixes suggested, cleaned the registry with all the suggested programs, adjusted the filters, uninstalled at least 15 times and reinstalled with the newest downloads from the website. Used DVD's from 3 different spindles purchased at 3 different places, all different brands (and I don't buy the idea the brand is the issue, it has always worked with good or cheap until the upgrades).

With all the problems listed throughout this forum alone, it cannot be the fault of burners, DVD's or conflicts. The only contstant is the software. I have been very happy with the software until this week, I reccommend it to everyone I talk to. I am just waiting for positive suggestions to fix it.

With everyone else.

Do not post the about the exact same issue in multiple threads please.

Your filters look fine.

The css message means either anydvd isn't working on your system on your reader (drive's) region code does not match the region code of the original disc. Exiting Anydvd and setting the region code of the drive to match the region code of the disc should resolve that issue.

In the future, before posting issues, answer http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=321 fully please

And, by the way, most people's anydvd/clonedvd work perfectly fine.

Yup regions are good, checked that. Like I keep trying to get accross - this has worked excellent for the past few years until the very last update on 2 different systems. I cannot believe both broke at the same day, same time. I do believe the updates may be in conflict with something already on the computers but have been unable to figure anything out as none of the suggestions have done anything so far. I love the software and have certainly gotten more than my money's worth out of it....I'd like to keep using it.

The only other thing I can think of is that my XP wanted to do an update and both systems were updated. I did a custom install and noted everything that went in, nothing had to do with protected media but has anyone heard of Microsoft doing anything with protected media?

Any new suggestions will be welcomed.

Actually, that's not right; I skimmed that too quickly. Please use one of the programs listed in step 4 and copy and paste the info.

Laptop will take a minute to transfer programs.....and get results.

Okay, your filters are fine. You listed them initially in your upperfilters, and they should be in your lower.

What blank media are you using? Specify a) brand name b)type (-R, +R, -RW, +RW, RAM, DL, etc.) c)media code, d) capacity/size, e) batch codes/serial codes (often found printed on the inner plastic hub of the blank disc), and f)country (factory information would be great as well, if possible) where the media was made (look on the physical packaging; do not rely on programs to accurately give you this information).

If you don't know how to obtain media codes, you may find the following programs useful:

You may want to try uninstalling any Sonic or Veratis software that may be on that system until those lowerfilter entires I quoted no longer appear.

I also strongly recommend doing this (on both systems).

Anyway, I'm going out to eat dinner, watch a movie, and see some friends.

I'll check back here again tonight or tomorrow.

I changed the new drivers as suggested but have not uninstalled any sonic stuff on this system yet. This is the desktop that gives the bad media messages in midst of a burn. I did try to copy one of the kid's dvds.....and got this from AnyDVD. I also got the CloneVDV message about protected media and not to use it to blah blah blah.....anyway AnyDVD's summary for the disc:

1. Very quickly, before I go . . . what happens if you select "safe mode" in Anydvd
(it's under "program settings")?

2. If that doesn't work, try clicking the "default" button in Anydvd.

3. And if that doesn't work, I would try uninstalling the sonic software until those filters I mentioned disappear.

Sorry for disappearing, so far nothing has worked. Even on previous burned DVD's with all CSS protections removed both systems are doing the same thing. One burns a blank dvd, the other gives a bad media message.

Currently I am trying the default and safe mode choices, I will let you know what is up. Sonic is gone.
