(This doesn't really have much to do with AnyDVD HD; sorry about that.)

I ripped a HD DVD with AnyDVD HD, checked the files play OK with PowerDVD 7.3 and used EVO Demux to split audio and video files into separate streams.

I did this to enable screenshot grabbing from HD DVDs, as PowerDVD won't do screencaps. However, there's a problem: the video stream is VC-1 (extension .mpv, as named by EVO Demux) and most players have difficulty with it.

PowerDVD plays the video stream, but won't make screen captures. Windows Media Player 11 simply crashes. Nero Showtime plays the file, but screen capture is disabled. Media Player Classic crashes; Zoom player ditto. VLC refuses to play the file.

Any help and advice is truly appreciated!

Disable hardware accelleration in windows and you should be able to do screencaps with "print screen" from any app.

Didn't work for PowerDVD 7.3 or Nero Showtime. HW acceleration is disabled, and screencaps show a black screen only.
