Slow burning time with DL DVD

Does anyone know how to speed up the burning time for a dual layer DVD? It seems to be taking a vast amount of time to complete (150+ minutes) - is this normal?
 
Hi there,

When I burn something nearing 8.5 Gb it takes about 30-35 minutes for the burn portion using CloneDVD. I am burning at 4X which is near the universal recommended burn speed. I have a Sony DRU-830A burner and use Verbatim DL discs exculsively.
