Please define "CLONE"

A few searches turned up nothing regarding this issue, though perhaps I'm not the only one confused here. Is a sheep with only three legs truly the "clone" of one with four? Is a man with no head truly the "clone" of a man who has one? The product is called "Clone DVD," one of the menu items specifically says it will "clone" a DVD, yet it doesn't. My kids want to play the games and see the extras that are on the original disk (I won't let them touch! lol) and my "CLONE" doesn't have them. Is there a way to make a true clone? Am I doing something wrong? Or does the product and the function need to be renamed to "Copy some of it"?

Actually, many "commercial movie" dvds, children's and adult's, contain additional features and files which require the disc being put into a computer dvd drive to access... in fact, there will be a menu notice saying something like , "Place the disc in a computer drive to access additional special features." They may make use of the internet or other PC functions. Certainly I regularly see DVDs containing the InterActual installation stuff which annoys me to no end. That being said, these files are still as much a part of the DVD as any .IFO or .VOB file. I would have thought you knew this...

Anyway, those files (the ones not found in the audio or video related folders) do not seem to be reproduced on the "clone"... Since the link you sent me to reads "whether it’s the main title you’re copying OR THE COMPLETE DVD" (perhaps you should have followed the link yourself before posting it?), and because a "clone" is an exact duplicate, I expected what that link claimed...the COMPLETE dvd...

Nevertheless... I suppose what you are trying to tell me is, if I really want to clone a DVD, don't buy CloneDVD 2 and use the CloneDVD function? Or perhaps someone with a little more experience can respond to this issue. I may need to create an ISO or use some other product?

Due to the snide tone of your posts, I am reticent to answer your question, and I probably won't reply to your future questions should you post them. However, you should be using Verbatim +R DL media and Clonecd. Clonedvd2 is not the answer you're looking for.

Considering the tone of your response, I think I have been quite polite. Of course, I realize there are always those who hang out at these forums and attempt to portray themselves as expert. Since I don't know you, and I'm not inclined to seek out your other posts to determine the general tone you use, I will continue to assume you either don't know any better or are having a rare "bad day."

As for the search feature, as I posted the first time (maybe you were so anxious to be "snide" you didn't read the entire thing?) I did searches on the terms that made sense to me and did not find anything relevant. Of course I wish I had found whatever it is you refer to so that I didn't take up so much of your time. Still, my original question (you must have missed it) remains. What exactly is a "clone" in the minds of SlySoft? From what you have posted, this product might better be named "BackupDVD"? I am a big fan of AnyDVD and it seems more appropriately named.

Meanwhile, I will take a look at CloneCD. Thank you for recommending it.
