Hi there,
I purchased AnyDvd last year and never had any problems till about 2 months ago. Everytime I stick one of my movies in.. AnyDVD does not read it what so ever. It states that "No Disc is present in Drive D:" so I restared my computer and still it did not work and then I disabled/enabled and still it did not work. Is there something I have to change on my computer? I read another thread about having software that might interfere with AnyDVD but I did not have any of those programs on my computer. If someone can please help me I would highly appreciate it. Thanks again for your time.
Here is a list of my movies
-Eragon
-Casino Royale
-FlyBoys
-Blood Diamond

If you exit Anydvd can you see a "video_ts folder" on the discs in Windows Explorer?

I don't know if this the information your looking for, I tried looking for Upper Filters but I did not see anything. I am looking at the Registry Editor right now.

Hi Webslinger,

I don't see anything at all that says video_ts in windows explorer. It's like AnyDvd can't read the DVDS at all. The only thing Anydvd says is that No Disc is present in Drive D:! and the green light on my computer blinks for about a minute and then stops.

Hi,

I'm basically asking you to exit Anydvd and check first. I'm not interested in what Anydvd says at this point. I'm interested in whether your drive works. There's not much point in my troubleshooting this issue, if Windows Explorer can't see the discs when Anydvd isn't running (or is uninstalled).

drvmcdb - Used by Sonic and Veritas. Yet unknown in which software it is used (possibly backup software).

DLACDBHM--Used by Sonic

You should uninstall the associated software until those two entries are gone from your lowerfilters.

That said, if your drive won't see the discs when Anydvd isn't running or uninstalled, then what I'm typing here is pointless.

Okay..Sorry I missunderstood you. I disabled AnyDVD and my drive does not seem to pick up the movies. So is my drive broken or something? I don't mean to sound dumbfounded I would just like to know whats wrong that's all.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.

1. Keep your license key file backed up safely
2. Uninstall Anydvd (start-->all programs-->Slysoft--->Anydvd-->Uninstall)
3 Reboot

4.Test again.

If your drive still can't read the discs, this isn't an Anydvd issue, and something is the matter with your drive or the drivers on your system.

If your drive can read the discs after uninstalling Anydvd, then
1) do http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.php?p=1455402&postcount=3
and
2)uninstall the stuff the software I told you to uninstall here: http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=20318&postcount=8

Alright I uninstalled AnyDvd and popped in a music cd and that worked fine. The I popped in several backup copies of movies I made awhile back and that played fine too(The Protector,IdleWild)the weird thing is that none of my NEW movies wont play which is odd.
Eragon,FlyBoys,The Nativity Story etc. these wont play at all even when I manually try to play them. What can be causing this to happen?

What can be causing this to happen?

A dying drive (in which case, cd reading may fail eventually as well) or a dirty lens (you can try using a lens cleaner) are common reasons.

It's possible that removing your lowerfilter entries will work, you can try following the steps below (but I wouldn't hold my breath):
Do

1) http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.php?p=1455402&postcount=3
2) Test your commercial dvds
3) http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=20318&postcount=8
4) test your commercial dvds

Regardless, your issue has nothing to do with Anydvd at this point. If Anydvd is uninstalled it can't interfere with the reading of discs in any manner.

As I stated previously (http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=20327&postcount=10) the issue is with your drive
or your drivers.

This sounds very similar to me and my drive is Brand New.

It's not the same issue at all. Mango23's drive doesn't work even when Anydvd is uninstalled.

To me AnyDVD is the cause.

It's possible there's an issue with Anydvd and your usb external drive, but this isn't the same issue at all here. Your
drive still works when Anydvd is uninstalled.

To me AnyDVD is the cause.

She unistalled AnyDVD and the problem still exists. How can AnyDVD be causing the problem if it is no longer on her hard drive? I had the experience where everything was fine with backing up disks for months then all of a sudden certain disks couldnt be read. Installed a new DVD burner and everything was perfect again.

Like Web said......if the program is uninstalled ......how can it be the problem?

Hey guys I just wanted to say thanks for all your help. I uninstalled AnyDVD and reinstalled it and still my drive would not read the *newer movies. My drive only picked up audio cds and backup copies of other movies I made so I don't know what the heck is wrong with it.Webslinger you gave me a link and I follwed the instructions in updating my drive(only have 1) and still it wont read any of the newer movies. What could be causing it not to read the newer movies but be able to read older ones? Any other helpful info would be appreciated. Thankyou all.

What could be causing it not to read the newer movies but be able to read older ones?

1) A dying drive (in which case, cd reading may fail eventually as well) or a dirty lens (you can try using a lens cleaner) are common reasons.

2) Bad originals

3) Newer sony junk can't be read on some players.
Granted, this is a standalone player, but visit an example where Sony is basically messing with its own customer (Stranger than Fiction is a Sony release):
http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.php?p=1714873&postcount=30

However, Eragon has almost no protection on it at all, and your drive won't even see it. We've already established this isn't an Anydvd issue, as your drive won't read the movies even when Anydvd is uninstalled. So, I would suggest the first two issues I mentioned are likely culprits. Anydvd isn't going to magically fix your drive--nor your original discs that can't be read.
