Please help converting DVD to Xvid file

Using clone mobile i do i create a xvid file from dvd?????
 
choose the 'Generic (DivX)' option.
(avi=divx=xvid=basically the same format)

it is the same format just a different name.
i asked the very same question in feb 2006 in an e-mail to slysoft and this was the response i got back:

The "DivX" format is in fact an XViD format that can be played by most DivX
compatible players and devices. We chose the more popular term "DivX".

Image issue

After converting a chapter from my kid`s DVD, I try to look at the resulting .avi file in Winamp (and other software players) and all I get is the sound. No pictures.

Can you guys help?
 
I downloaded the Divx viewr (free) and installed. Then winamp was happy. Windows (or whatever os/sw you are using) does need a codec. Divx viewer works well
