1.5.0.4 beta wont create a playable file (apple ipod video) of the one i did yesterday (alan partridge series 2).

i get this message:
capture_25102008_001134.jpg

wont create a playable divx file either:
capture_25102008_002025.jpg

(1.2.0.1 has no problems creating playable apple or divx formats).

here's the apple ipod video and divx transcoder logs:

This is the new error message with this version. No dump file but a mencmpass file created and it has been attached.
Hope this helps.

Update : There is something fishy with my system. Just retried this after having stopped AnyDVD and then restarted it due to a need to have it disabled for a music rip i did and now it works and I can't reproduce it. So please take the above with a pinch of salt that it might very well be my system messing with me.

No .dump file is created. Refer here for a thread I started involving DivX issues. Fernando attached a mencoder replacement. Replacing the mencoder.exe that comes with 1.5.0.4 beta with that attachment fixes the lack of a .dump file being created.

I have yet to actually successfully create a DivX conversion be it directly from a disc or from files on my HDD that were previously ripped. The more info posted the more Fernando will have to work with in order to resolve the problem(s) unless Fernando doesn't need more. I honestly don't know. I can post plenty more logs if necessary.

No, please continue to post logs.

Currently the ac3 decoder (being in aggressive mode) stops right after it sees any problem (like crc error, frame size error). And ffmpeg does not close those files either. That's why no file can be played. I'll correct it so even ac3 "damaged" files are closed.

Hi
I get this error every time I click go when dooing a MPEG re-encode.

Code:
File 2 "C:\Program Files\SlySoft\CloneDVDmobile\apps\mencoder.exe" - -sid 4 -spuaa 2 -ifo "X:\VIDEO_TS\VTS_05_0.ifo" -af volume=0 -of mpeg -oac lavc -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg2video:vrc_buf_size=1835:vrc_maxrate=9800:vbitrate=5000:keyint=18:vstrict=0:acodec=libmp3lame:abitrate=192:vbitrate=1278:abitrate=192:threads=4 -vf pp=fd,scale=720:404,harddup -aspect 1.777778 -info name="INDIANA_JONES_CRYSTAL_SKULL" -ofps 25 -o "G:\wmvencode\Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull TEST.mpg" 232 TCE

Encoder output:

ERROR: Invalid parameter 'vstrict=0:acodec=libmp3lame:abitrate=192:vbitrate=1278:abitrate=192:threads=4' for -lavcopts..

I also get an error using wmv each time around 93%.

vstrict=0 is an unknown parameter in devices.ini

and I need that file: G:\wmvencode\Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull TEST.dump

Hi,

I'm currently trialling AnyDVD and CloneDVD mobile.

So far, I've not had any luck converting any of my DVDs for my PSP, so I thought I'd try the betas.

Here's a dump from a crash when trying to convert Spirited Away (Region 2).

Hope that helps!

Log file too. I always need both files.

Apologies - I'm new to this.

Is there a description somewhere (I've missed) which describes exactly what it is you need.

BTW - since I seem to get a failure on almost every DVD I try, I'm wondering if it's something to do with the fact I have a quad core processor? The encoder command string is setting up 4 threads.

:)

Alrighty, new beta version and some new bug information:

Alien: still aborts, dump file no longer 0 bytes tho

Aliens: aborts, dump file ok but cannot save log information as CDVDm stops responding and needs to be force quit, first time this has happened.

A Night At The Roxbury: aborts, dump file ok, no log info, CDVDm stops responding, needs to be force quit, second time this has happened re:Aliens.

EDIT: the new memcoder & ffmpeg were used

OK - I've registered AnyDVD and CloneDVD Mobile.

Here's one that the kids are hassling me to transfer, but no luck.

This should have dump and transcoder log for Labyrinth.

1.5.0.4 (with the 2 new .exes) and latest AnyDVD.

Hope that helps!

Edit: Actually - I thought I'd try this on my laptop too, and so far it's working. that's a 2.26GHz Pentium-M based Dell Inspiron XPS Gen 2. The desktop is a self-built quad core Intel.

I wonder if it's worth you adding a mechanism to limit the number of threads, in case my guess is correct that the number of threads are having an effect?

Here's the file concerning the wmv generation.

Fernando;140722]vstrict=0 is an unknown parameter in devices.ini
I'm using the original devices.ini file.
Anyway, I also got the problem with the MPEG pass-trough and there's no vstrict in that one.

Code:
File 2 "C:\Program Files\SlySoft\CloneDVDmobile\apps\mencoder.exe" - -af volume=0 -of mpeg -oac mp3lame -ovc copy -lameopts cbr:br=192 -vf pp=fd,scale=720:576,crop=720:576:0:0,harddup -aspect 1.777778 -info name="INDIANA_JONES_CRYSTAL_SKULL" -ofps 25 -o "G:\wmvencode\Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull TEST.mpg" 232 TCE

Encoder output:

ERROR: Cannot convert video parameters for 'copy'.

Q: Does CDVDm generate a log file?

Just curious due to it freezing up on 2 movies and being unable to just copy and paste the log info into a txt file for posting.

If it doesn't could that be added in like the .dump file? Preferably the same folder the .dump file is created in just to make bug posting a bit easier.

Thanks and appreciate the quick attempts to fix these problems

EDIT: never mind, figured it out. If you press the OK button on the Log screen and wait long enough the window will eventually
close allowing you to save the transcoder log.

Could you also post the approx. movie length? 2 hrs, 1:30 hrs ...

the main movie is 1h57nn31 sec
But I have the same issue with a small movie (same dvd) of 11nn46 stopping around 90 percent.

I included the dump file.

But is does work with a 47 second movie on the same DVD.

To be complete I must say I'm using a ISO image (using daemon tools). I always first rip to iso and then to a seperate file.
But I already done about 100 movies like this, it's only with this beta I get this problem.
