I'm on trial software membership. I cannot back up my copy of National Treasure Book of Secrets.

Is anyone else having this problem ?

Using DVDshrink with AnyDVD running- File reallocation failed.

I tried 2 different NTBOS DVD's. Exact same failure.

I have been using other programs that failed also. I have been backing up for years. This is a new problem.

Make sure you are using AnyDVD 6.4.3.2: http://static.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD.exe

Post log files:

  1. Ensure AnyDVD is running.
  2. Put the problematic original movie DVD in your burner. Wait for AnyDVD to scan the disc.
  3. Right click the red fox icon on your toolbar.
  4. Select "Create Logfile".
  5. Wait for AnyDVD to create a log file.
  6. A pop-up screen will appear. Take note of the location where AnyDVD created the logfile and the logfile's name. Click "OK".
  7. Go to your "My Documents" folder.
  8. You will see a ZIP file called "AnyDVD_Info_titleofmydisc.zip" (or something similar; see step f).
  9. When replying or posting in the SlySoft forums, look for the icon that looks like
    attach.gif
(in other words, look for the paperclip after clicking "quote" or when creating a new thread).
  10. If you don't see that paperclip icon, click the "go advanced" button. You should see that icon now. Click the paperclip.
  11. A small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't, please ensure your browser is configured to allow pop-ups from the SlySoft forum).
  12. Click the "Browse" button and locate and select the ZIP file you created.
  13. Click "upload".
  14. Close the window. When you submit reply, or submit a new thread, the ZIP file will be attached automatically for us to take a look at.

Rip the disc to your HDD with the AnyDVD ripper first and then compress with DVD Shrink. Discs containing complex structural protections cause problems with software like DVD Shrink or Nero Recode much of the time so it's smarter to rip using the AnyDVD ripper first.

i was able to backup national treasure 2 with no problems. not sure what your issue may be but i would suggest using a different recoder like nero. dvdshrink is too outdated and doesnt work all the time. try nero 8 ultra. good luck

Both Nero Recode and DVD Shrink have issues with newer structural protections. There's a sticky that discusses specific discs with issues. Humorously enough there are numerous discs that Nero Recode has an issue with that DVD Shrink does not.

Try ripping Rambo to your HDD with AnyDVD ripper and then import it into Nero Recode. Now import it into DVD Shrink. One of them fails and it isn't DVD Shrink.

Regardless, my advice stands. They should rip the disc to their HDD first and then import it into DVD Shrink.
