write/burn speed problem

Hi, i have 2 dvd-rom LG GSA-H50N
but i'm not able to write under 4x.

I updated the firmware to 1.02 and update jmicron driver.
spec of my dvd allow burn 1x to 18x

I wrote to support of LG and they said contact the company of the application.

So i see in img burner on any DVD ( i have verbatim dvd+r DL ( 2.4x )
and maxell dvd-r (1x to 16x)

and minimum writting speed is 4x.
if i select 1x, it burn in 4x.

I would like to know how to fix it.
My dvd-rom is in DMA mod and UDMA 4 mod.
does it better to put it in PIO ?

and how ti fix my problem. i need to burn in 1x or (2.4x minimum speed of my verbatim)

Your Drive is 'Defaulting' to 4x/2.4x
- because that is the lowest Write Strategy Available in the Firmware Support
- for the particular Media

Your GSA-H50N is an 18x Burner
DL support : up to 10x ( with the right Media )

Specs:
48xCDR CAV
32xCDRW ZCLV
18xDVD-R CAV
6xDVD-RW CLV
10xDVD-RDL PCAV
18xDVD+R CAV
8xDVD+RW ZCLV
10xDVD+RDL PCAV
12xDVD-RAM PCAV

The slowest I would ever burn 16x SL media is 4x
but your results will be much better @ 8x , 12x ... even 16x

For DL : 2.4x or 4x .... faster if you can get away with it

Why .... Would you want to want to Burn Slower ?
1x is like ... watching paint dry ....

Burning Too Slow .... can be just as Bad as Burning too fast

Your drive was intended to operate in UDMA4
PIO would only cause you more problems

What is the Issue
- That would lead you to believe that burning - that slow
- would be 'beneficial' ?

answer why

why i want to burn 1x or 2x ...

i burn backup of my Movie / Xbox 360 game
and if i burn up to 4x

i dont try to run a game if i burn in 4x
but i see in a lot of forum, it's better to burn in 1x or 2x
for that type of media.

As I had stated
Your Burner simply does not have the Firmware Support
- to Burn that media - that Slow

LG GSA-H50N Super Multi DVD Burner Review

LG GSA-H50N offers only 4x speed for this 2.4x DVD+R DL media,
no more, no less. The result is very good

If you can't burn Movies at 8x using 16x media
- there's something else going on ....
I'd first look at the Media

I might suspect other Issues - causing your Playback Problem

:)
