dual layer DVD?

I am backing up a dvd of a season of a tv series. when I insert the blank dvd to copy data it says I need to have a dual layer dvd writer and media.
Is there any way to put this data on a regular dvd?
I am using clone dvd and media 5.
any help? Thanks:(

I'm sorry; are you using Clonecd or Clonedvd? You know you posted in the Clonecd forum, right?

For Clonecd, the answer is no. You should use Verbatim +R DL (made in singapore) or MAM-A 8x +R DL. I use Clonecd to backup my dvds: I use this method http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=686


For Clonedvd, click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=476 (select "dvd-5" near the quality bar in Clonedvd).
