I researched DVD Copiers FOREVER. When I used the CLONEDVD Demo EVERY DVD Copied perfectly--so I bought it (CLONEDVD) about 2 months ago-a $70 Investment. BUT, in the past 2 weeks I've had 5-6 BAD copies (skipping , freezing, "no disk") Today I went to copy a newer movie and got the "BOMBED Out" sound twice.

I'll attribute the BAD copies to bad blank media for the moment; today I ordered 50 NEW, quality DVD+R DL's. But WHAT'S with the NEWER DVD Movie I have tried to rendition-- that it won't COPY AT ALL ? Not even to HDD or Image?

Any Clues here?

are you using anydvd with clonedvd? and are you using the latest versions? what movie did you have problems with and were there errors etc?

You'll need to provide us with some details before anyone can help you. List discs that are causing problems and also create log files and post them.

Do the following for a problematic disc:

a) Ensure Anydvd is running.
b) Put the problematic original movie dvd in your burner. Wait for Anydvd to scan the disc.
c) Right click the red fox icon on your toolbar.
d) Select "Create Logfile"
e) Wait for Anydvd to create a log file.
f) A pop-up screen will appear. Take note of the location where Anydvd created the logfile and the logfile's name. Click "ok".
g) Go to your My Documents folder
h) You will see a zip file called "Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.zip" (or something similar; see step f)
i) When replying or posting in the Slysoft forums, look for the icon that looks like
attach.gif
(in other words, look for the paperclip after clicking "quote" or when creating a new thread)
j) If you don't see that paperclip icon, click the "go advanced" button. You should see that icon now. Click the paperclip.
k) A small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't please ensure your browser is enabled to allow pop-ups from the Slysoft forums)
l) Click the "Browse" button, and locate and select the .zip file you created.
m) click "upload"
n) Close the window. When you submit reply, or submit a new thread, the .zip file will be attached automatically for us to take a look at

Not with lack of information you've provided, no

1. Use Anydvd 6.4.1.2: click http://static.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD6412.exe

You may need to reboot after installing if prompted to do so.

2. Click the red fox icon on your toolbar. Click "default". Click "ok".

3. Use Clonedvd 2.9.1.7: click http://static.slysoft.com/SetupCloneDVD2917.exe

4. Follow the steps from this link in order: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=476 (follow them step by step)

If you're using +R DL blank discs, I recommend using Clonecd: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=327

5. If you still have problems, then . . .

B) State the full a)error message(s) you encountered (click "details"), b)tell us what program(s) you were using when you received the error message(s), and c) describe in detail what you were doing when you received the error message(s). What problem are you having exactly?

C) Click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=5091 to see if your question has already been answered

I did not see a response to your question. What is the only quality media out right now. I use only Verbatim DVD+R/DL. :)

Provided that's made in Singapore, that is the best +R DL blank media. The second best is MAM-A 8x +R DL.

And everything else should probably be avoided.

I unfortunately have ones that were made in India. What difference does the orgin make? Doesn't Verbatim set a standard they have to made to? Last question, what difference in quality will I see?

I unfortunately have ones that were made in India. What difference does the orgin make?

The ones made in Singapore tend to work more consistently, and consequently, the burn quality tends to be better. They are made by Mitsubishi Chemical's plant (and Verbatim is a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical).

The ones in India are made by Moser Baer.

Doesn't Verbatim set a standard they have to made to?

Yes

But that doesn't meant that all Verbatim blank media is equally good.

Last question, what difference in quality will I see?

See? Visually? Nothing. They either work or they don't (and by not working I include pixellation and skipping). It's also possible the ones from India may degrade faster over time (but no definitive testing has been done in that area yet).

If yours work, I wouldn't worry about it.

Just to check if the disc is bad try doing a DVD5 backup. That would rule out the disc and the program.
